I'd be surprised if Floyd did make the fight at 157 but would love to see it at any weight to be honest....even 147 if that meant we make this fight reality. It's a solid fight but no one wants the excuse train to go full tilt in the aftermath.
If this were to infact go down, it would need to be for some signifigance. I anticipate a catchweight of 155 for the MW title. Floyd fighting Sergio at 154 or below would have nothing on the line other than Sergio's name. Some type fo trinket needs to be involved.
I was thinking the same thing. No way is this fight signed before the Pacquiao Marquez rubbermatch so lets see what comes out of Top Rank over the next couple of weeks...
Pac is still THE challenge for Mayweather. If he fights and beats Martinez he still needs to face Pac. Pac is a completely different fighter than Martinez and anyone who suggests that Mayweather doesn't need to fight Pac because he beat Martinez is a nut hugging ****! Floyd vs Martinez is a great fight but he still need's to face Pac.
as of right now I have no respect for Mayweather as a Warrior or Athelete, he hasnt given us what the greats of yore have. He is a punk replete with Ducks suckerpunches you name it. He is not the admired boxing great, but I would say this would be the one time he had gained my respect but I am sure he wont its too much risk and after all isnt he really deep down inside just a skilled punk.
And, the fight would be at 154 with no belt on the line. I don't think Floyd cares enough for the MW belt and he knows that criticism follows catchweight fights. Perception is that 154 > 155 for 160 belt
You *******s really need to stop with your erratic Mayweather hating. If this fight comes off @ 154lbs or above then you all will have been collectively bitchslapped by Team Mayweather and the "Floyd is ducking Pac" noise will have to CEASE. How in the **** is Floyd ducking Pacquiao only to move UP in weight and fight the 160 champ? How does that work?
This fight is meaningless if it's below 154lbs. Doubt that I would even watch if that turns out to be the case. I'm sick of the silly catchweight ****.
Is it really that hard seeing Floyd outpoint Sergio? Even getting some knockdowns because of Sergio's sometimes awkward balance? Don't know about the catch weight, but I do see Floyd taking them up on the offer not to come in over 164(165?).
