you want to know what's sad and why nobody takes Lance seriously. He said himself, why the fight couldn't have happened because of the netwroks and yet he still says it's Floyd's fault

Look here. This guy is not worth arguing with

It's been mentioned quite a bit. Basically the Floyd fanboys don't give a **** since he paid JMM. Or they say, "He'd beat JMM at any weight...", **** like that.

I dont see how his losses matter that much, the only real lost that could hurt his legacy is the morales loss, his first loss doesnt hurt him at all and his second only a little since he made a huge jump afterwards since he was drained as hell at 112.
Same way Donaire's early loss wont hurt his legacy at all, if for example gamboa beats him at 126 and after that donaire turns out good at the weight and above then it will have an impact at this point of his career.

    duh?

what the hell are you talking about here? its a known fact that floyd never intended to clean the 140 division as he moved up to face nobodies, a low-morale guy coming off-loses, and that aging stiff baldy he knew he could easily beat. he has never faced real opposition since 135. hoya @154 actually beat him and he had to take hatton out of his comfortable weigh class.:huh

That wasn't even the focus of discussion dude. We were disucssing the timeline of events when Floyd fought Gatti and Hatton fought Tszyu. If you are going to comment on a post in the middle of a dicsussion, you really should go to ther beginning to get the actual context.

Until Pac beats Floyd for that number one spot Floyd will always be #1. Floyd has proven it everytime he went out why he's better then Pac. Floyd comes back after long lay offs and continue to dominate fighters with ease.

 Not even true. Right now if BOTH retired, Pac would be ranked higher. Hell, even a few rabid Floyd fans said that.

And all Floyd has proven is he's better then the guys he beat. That's it. nice try...not really.. :patsch

Actually, the burden is on Floyd to prove he's #1 still. Pac has been more active, so Floyd deserves a #2 at the WW division. On P4P list, I wouldn't rank him above Sergio just yet either.

    Yes.

Because although I think Pac ranks slightly ahead of Floyd at this point... It's not one of those things that are automatic. And it's not by as wide of a margin as *****-hunters/Pac-****s would like to suggest.

First of all, it's so convenient to put the argument out there that losses don't matter... And of course, it's the Pac fans that say this. That's bull****. Losses matter. They always have and always will. Pac has a few. Deal with it.

Reason #1 does it for me. Pac has fought many more dangerous fights than May.

The multiple weight classes don't mean that much to me. It's cool, but his legacy with all the great Mexican fighters is amazing.

To the *****s, this is a debate!!!!!

99.9 percent of the world don't see that as one. It is like asking if Floor is the opposite of Ceiling or Clottey is an ATG.

It is as obvious as it can get!!!!

Slightly ahead, quite ahed, infinitely ahead, somewhat ahead - whatever term you call it, He is ahead.

The only debate is how far or close ahead Pac is. Not whether Pac is ahead?

Not up to debate for objective fans.

As for no losses, who ranks higher?

I say that because you come off as Mayweather fighting Gatti who was ring mag #2 and the WBC title holder and offered Mayweather his first PPV is a bad thing. That he should have fought Hatton instead even though he wasn't really known in USA, only held the WBU and didn't offer PPV potential at that moment.

That's what I sensed by your responses. If I was wrong and jumped to conclusions I apologies. But then I'm also lost because I don't get what you are trying to say.

Hatton wasn't a worthy option for Mayweather until he defeated Tzyu. So no matter what happend before that until Hatton earned the credentials by defeating a fighter like Tzyu. Mayweather fighting Hatton had absolutely no appeal to non Britsh or hard core fights and probably wasn't ready yet mentally either. Not only that but Hatton stated AFTER he defeated Tzyu and Mayweather defeated Gatti that he wasn't ready to face a fighter like Mayweather. This while he sat ring side along with Cotto to watch the Gatti fight. The only realistic time for Mayweather to have fought Hatton with Hatton being ready would be after Gatti anyway and probably a yr later. So I don't see what Mayweather fighting 2 eliminators for Gatti have to do with Hatton. It wasn't like Hatton was recognized like Gatti was or even offered a PPV possibility at that time, or hold a belt with any type of real value.

So back to my original statement with Tzyu at showtime, Mayweather defeating Gatti, Hatton still not willing to fight yet after defeating Tzyu who retired, Cotto not willing to fight yet. There were no realistic options for Mayweather to establish lineage at Jr WW unless he stayed there for another yr or 2. Mayweather chose to chase after Hoya and Mosley at WW instead probably knowing he could come back to Hatton and Cotto later.
