Benard Hopkins on Floyd Mayweather

He's wrong. Floyd is while old-school in comparison to most in his discipline and technique is still very much a reflex based fighter in comparison to the rooted defense that's in Hopkins stance. He was getting hit with shots from Ortiz that he shouldn't have had been. Hopkins was against Pascal, but he should have because he's 46 years old... and he was actually trying to be exciting.

 

Who said I disrespected or NeckBreakAiken disrespected mancat? Or the other way around? Nobody is even disrespecting Floyd or B'nard for sayin what he is willing to say about Floyd ( even tho we all know B'Nard doesn't speak on behalf of anyone for no reason...)

B'Nard said that Floyd can make best use of that great ring wisdom of the Mayweathers and he is the only one to be able to beat himself. For Chrissake! What is that suppose to mean if that the only person who can erase that 0 in Floyd's resumé is Floyd and only Floyd? Sure Nard said he can stay undefeated until he's 50 but hey, don't disregard what he said b4 and in between the lines... Tyson beat Tyson in Tokyo, forget about Douglas, Jones beat Jones in his first fight even tho they score a majority decision for him against Antonio Tarver, even Holmes beat Holmes and Spinks was just in there to put the pressure on and avoid the man breakin Marciano's record. C'mon?!

Wow man Bhops knows his baxing. And to think he OFFERED to help out Kelly Pavlik be a better fighter and he would of been. Pavlik needs to move to Philly ASAP.

 

I completely disgree that he can fight till he's 50. I'm sorry but his style only works with very good reflexes and hand speed. There is just no way to escape that. Once you lose some of that reflex and speed, you are wide open. I don't question he would be a very good fighter for years and possibly even beat some other world champs but he would lose against other elite fighters.

 

im a bit surprised he was honest. He hates mayweather as a person. hops needs to be a commentator, hes awesome at it, seen him on espn doing his nephews fight and he wasnt biased at all and was pointing out things his nephew needed to work on

I hear what B Hop is saying but I beg to differ in one respect. The WW division spawns great fighters and its a young fighter out there right now with the gifts of speed, power and intelligence to take Moneys O. Like Hop said the only one that can beat Mayweather is Mayweather and believe me, theres another Mayweather out there. Different name but same or better skillset. Mosley and Zab even had speed. Ortiz came in without even jabbing and caught Floyd. It's there, and Ortiz is raw.

 

More like he came pretty close and now has some practice at it.


He'll have better tools this time around.
