ill say this for the warriors fans, i was at the tigers vs warriors final the other week and when everyone was walking out after the match they were incredibly well behaved. obviously they were happy and singing/chanting and stuff but i didnt see one of them abuse a tigers fan or any of that **** you might get at say a bulldogs or brisbane game.
If you want a laugh, have a listen to this. Their is a volume that has just been uploaded to youtube so check them all out. They are mates of mine and perfect jet has a few calls on there too. Its a compilation of prank calls to radio stations, mostly involving the NRL. If its up your alley, go to youtube and check out the rest. Mate good to hear you get a potential call up for the NSW State of Origin side, PJ. You might just get it!
The best call is one about kogarah jubilee oval and the council plans to build a grand stand at the time. ( in the 90's). Its gold. im not sure what volume its on, i havent gone through them all. Bit sad to hear the voices two guys no longer with us...peter frilingos and rex mossop. Actually, from memory, i think peter jackson features on one of the calls.
saw Kevin Campion mentioned in an article as having played three GF's for three different clubs. Could remember Brisbane and Warriors but not the third one, Googled him and this classic came up on youtube: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05qIr6HG9QU[/ame] Webke gets smashed BTW the Sydney Morning Herald continues it's tradition of blowing Mundine's trumpet in the same article. Mr 3 Times (4 times? - hard to keep up), according to the Herald, is part of the elite club of players who have played in grand finals for 3 different clubs. "What?" You ask. The pricks have decided that when it comes to the Man, they're gonna include his stints at St George Dragons and St George Illawarra Dragons as separate clubs, giving him another bogus record like his interim and regular titles.
Sports journalism in this country is a joke. Outside of a handful of journo's the rest are a collective bunch of 25 yr old misfits. The daily telegraph has a batch of young guys covering all sorts of sports and even crossing over in to other areas of reporting. Experience and learning on the beat arent necessary these days i guess. They should be writing stories for new idea or any other glossy magazine since tabloid journalism is the only priority. Roy masters is a wealth of knowledge at the SMH. He's a great read.
Haha, playing in 3 different GFs doesn't equal winning 3 GFs though :yep The only winning GF team he was part of was when he spent a year at Brisbane during the Superleague year, and by his own admission he never fitted in there, they were too "cliquey" according to him...I think he started off the bench in the first grade games he actually played, and played at centre rather than 5/8th.
