cos boxing allows them to be

50 yrs ago boxers fought for pride and the love of the sport, nowadays they get millions per fight and millions in sponsors so they can fight twice a year

    thats about it really

pac is very busy also with his political career

Fighting two times a year in today's boxing where a fighter of Pac's status requires 3-4 months of solid promotion for each fight, is very normal. If you think Pac isn’t active enough, then the likes of Froch, Ward, Martinez, Vitali, Wladimir, etc, aren’t either.

Yes, I think that it is really a case of Pac having now become like a corporation with lots of divisions. A few years back, he was a boxer, pure and simple. Now he is a major celebrity in his home country (not to mention the rest of the world) he is singing to the point of recording material, he does charity work, and he is building the foundations of a political career for when he is completely through with the fighting, plus a few business interests. So I think boxing is just not the all-consuming passion for him that it once was, it is just one of his many interests. And he is at a financial point where he can do whatever he likes, basically, so he juggles his boxing with a lot of other interests. Bad for fight fans, but I can see why it has happened.

Twice a year is inactive, at least 3 times like Amir Khan. The klitschko are normal active enough. As for Sergio, he wanted to fight Pirog in summer 11, but HBO didn't want to.

he had to be absent from the Philippine Congress (his other job) for two or three months each time he fights. its embarrassing for him each time the press scrutinize his attendance record. and he fights twice a year

Khan is young and his fights aren't megafights. He can afford to fight 3 times a year. Pacquiao can't.

you dont know what ur talking about

manny gets about 40 - 50m per year for fighting twice, fighters like khan get far less and so feel the need to be more active

twice a year is very very common in boxing for such high earners

sadly nobody has more then 2 mega fights a year

    the reason is promotion.

sure he could hvae 6 fights a year but due to lack of promotion with all the relevant sponsors and tv companies he would probably only get 5 mil a fight

    its economics

He is a congressman, which is gazillion time more valid reason to be inactive than being a *****

Exactly. Being a national congressman isn't exactly a part-time job. Let's face it, being a cog in the machine of running a country is extremely hard and time-consuming work.

So the fact he manages to successfully juggle that difficult role with being one of the world's most famous and successful boxers, while fighting media-sensation fights twice a year, is impressive.
