Not to mention he owes some other of his wins to his huge size advantage over opponents , but still having to cut them , and then relying on a lot of help from the judges when things still didn't go his way despite of everything .

Ali's only legitimate (until the truth will be revealed again , hopefully) decisive wins were : Bonavena , Lyle , Ellis , Patterson #2 when Patterson was 37 (in their first fight , the very much dwarfed Patterson had a crippled back)

Lewis is 1 of d examples that crossed my mind prior 2 posting this thread , but I don't think he was so close 2 his prime upon retiring , Lewis wasted most of his prime staying as far as he could from even being considered as a possible opponent to Tyson .

Quitting on the stool because you have no answers for your opponent is the worst kind of quit to me? Quitting when you're at your absolute prime and not facing the #1 contending challenger by boxing reputation is the second worst kind of quit. The third worst kind of quit is being a champion and not keeping your body in shape at the same time.

 

And then making a comeback when it's safe .

Or switching weight class .
