Why do German fans get f*****d over by their fighters?

I just read that Sturm will be fighting Martin Murray. For those who don't know, he's a pretty average fighter with a good following. I actually like the way he fights but is he a world title challenger? Come on. Absolutely never, in a million years at this stage. Martinez has got a tough time for fighting Barker and yet Barker is several levels above Murray.

Sturm has had a few of these weak opponents. Macklin was fine but Hearns didn't deserve a shot. The infuriating thing is though, these fighters will talk about fighting the best but you know they simply won't. I bet Sturm's official line is that he'd like to fight Martinez but will he make that happen or will he pad his **** record fighting undeserving guys like Murray?

On another note, Wlad is fighting Mormeck. Atrocious fight and it's daylight robbery to charge for that. Dimitrenko fights out of Germany and despite being The Ring top 10, he decided to fight not only a journeyman but a shot journeyman in his last fight, and still got outfought. During Abraham's middleweight reign, he constantly fought absolute **** opponents.

German fans deserves better than this. Nowhere near enough of the world title fights in Germany are of a high standard. Eventually, they'll get tired of being treated like ****.

I agree that Haye/Harrison was a sham but it was a fight which pretty much needed to happen for the general public. As bad as it was, people did want to see it and the interest was huge, so I don't really blame anyone for that fight happening. People wanted to see Haye destroy Harrison and he did.

How many Germans know who Martin Murray is? How many care about that fight? Outside of those who purely want to see Sturm fight, I can't imagine many.

 

Nobody outside of England bought it either, so it doesn't matter.
