1) Ali was on testosterone injections for those who consider steroids a cheat . 2) I don't feel like repeating the rumble in d jungle story here . 3) thumbs , holding and hitting behind the head , stalling , having his gloves replaced by his trainer during a fight , smelling salts (legal by then) and many more . Not to mention he owes some other of his wins to his huge size advantage over opponents , but still having to cut them , and then relying on a lot of help from the judges when things still didn't go his way despite of everything . But I didn't claim Puritty would have beaten Ali . It is also an opportunity to (maybe) correct myself and state this : Ali's only legitimate (until the truth will be revealed again , hopefully) decisive wins were : Bonavena , Lyle , Ellis , Patterson #2 when Patterson was 37 (in their first fight , the very much dwarfed Patterson had a crippled back) Lewis is 1 of d examples that crossed my mind prior 2 posting this thread , but I don't think he was so close 2 his prime upon retiring , Lewis wasted most of his prime staying as far as he could from even being considered as a possible opponent to Tyson .
i dont really understand this trolling technique, seems to involve writing 10 times more than the people youre supposed to be trollign
Red, check out hsi replies to the debate i had with him on the link i provided. Even trolls have outcast this guy
Any fighter who retires before he gets brain-damage, and with a fortune earned in the ring and saved in the bank, is a DISGRACE to the traditions of the boxing game. :deal
Neither, its there bodies. Marciano did the right thing as did Lewis and Tunney. As for quiting in a fight thats iffy area there, Yes it was ok for Ali to quit vs Holmes or something were one fighter is taking a beating. But on the other hand Liston's quit jobs vs Ali dont fly imo.
Quitting on the stool because you have no answers for your opponent is the worst kind of quit to me? Quitting when you're at your absolute prime and not facing the #1 contending challenger by boxing reputation is the second worst kind of quit. The third worst kind of quit is being a champion and not keeping your body in shape at the same time.
