In last months Boxing Monthly esteemed boxing journo and Showtime broadcaster Steve Farhood, stated a list of reasons why the HW division should be scrapped.
Now this month he has written this little piece about the heavies.

    Now Lennox, now!

'In 2003, Lennox Lewis fought for the final time, scoring a sixth-round TKO over Vitali Klitschko.
That fight came almost exactly 100 years after what was to be James J. Jeffries last fight, a KO of Jack Munroe. But six years later, Jeffries was drawn back for one more bout, vs reigning heavyweight champion Jack Johnson.
Much as was the case with Johnson, today's heavyweight titlists, Wladimir and Vitali Klitschko, have been a bit too dominant for the greater good. Worse yet, they've virtually eliminated all legitimate contenders.
That's why i'm calling on The Great Black Hope:
Lennox Lewis must now emerge from his multiple dwellings and remove those golden smiles from the Klitschkos' faces.
    Lennox it's up to you'.

Obviously Farhood's pissed of with the state of the division like the majority of us, i also realise that he is humouring himself when writing this.

But Steve, how serious how are you when you make this call to arms to Lewis?

For the posters on here, what do you think?
Are the heavyweights that bad that we need a scenario like this to awaken boxings glamour division.

For the record, i think Lewis is a man of his word and will continue to be. He is very content with his lot. Plus he past the point of a realistic comeback about 4-5 years ago.

Last time i saw Lennox was when Vitali pulled his hat over his face. Lennox looked OLD, his hair was white. He should never ever, ever come back. Im sure hes wise enough when he looks at his 3 other main rivals and how theyre doing nowadays, namely Holy, Tyson and Bowe.

So he wants a fat old shot Lennox Lewis to come out of retirement to fight the Klitschkos?

    Is he on meth?

Lewis retired years ago because he did not want to face Vitali in the rematch. Why would he want to come back now to relive his worst nightmare?

I think Lewis would be embarrassed to be called "The Great Black Hope".

True, Vitalis face retired Lewis fists.
Lewis has question marks all over his career.
While Vitali cemented his legacy as one of the true ATGs and beat every man he ever faced

Nothing good would come of this. If Lewis lost, Klitschko fans would consider it a genuine victory and become even more unbearable. If Lewis won, he'd retire soon after, so what would be the point?

Although I think the majority of people realise that there is a need for change. It just isn't from Lewis.

I'm no K Bros fan but if they're dominating at the moment it's up to someone to step up and beat them, but it won't be a long retired Lennox Lewis.
By the way, Lewis beat VK fair and square. TKO6 don'cha know... It matters not whether he retired to avoid a re-match he feared losing, that was always his prerogative.
