I could see it being 7-3 after 10 and at a stretch 6-4 but for the most part Barker wasn't throwing enough and what he did land was not thrown particularly hard.

Martinez is overrated though. A very fine fighter obviously, one of the best around, but he's not at the level of Pacquiao, Mayweather, Marquez or Donaire imo.

They mistake doing better than expected for actually doing well. Barker couldn't have done much worse, losing every round, getting beaten up and then stopped. Really, the only thing would have been an early clean KO or something.

i disagree he'd just had enough or quit.

he was clearly punched out of there and genuinely couldn't beat the count.

Darren did well, he had some small moments but was outworked for much of the fight. I still think I saw enough to convince me Pac and May would both destroy Martinez. i had it 8-2 to Maravilla at the time of the stoppage.

I'm sure IB would put together a much more compelling argument than me as to why the fight was even (on our cards) at the time of the finish.

Looked very one dimensional tonight, the counters weren't enough and it took him 9 rounds to start punching through the guard. Very good fighter but like you say not elite.

Would it include a part where you explain how you win rounds for blocking punches but not throwing?
