I thought Hopkins won, too. He has nobody to blame but himself because he threw hardly any punches, but he landed the only meaningful blows in the fight.
Of course he is saying this with underlying motives (as u stated), but there are just as many people who felt Hopkins won as there are who felt Calzhage won.
NO just NO what is this 75% bull**** A lot of fans think the same and even a judge the fight was a split FFS Theres a reason Joe ran with an eeky win and never rematched , good chance he could lose and a lot of fans boxers and media think he lost this one get over it it was an either way fight
I'm basing it on multiple polls made here on ESB... http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=113894&highlight=calzaghe+hopkins Put into the equation that Calzaghe has more haters then Hopkins... Do the math... and puff you'll see the light.
It wasnt clear enough for all 3 judges to agree on the winner ! The fans are clearly divided on it also!
Hopkins won the first 4 rounds and was up with 5 points. Think he won the fight to, like Holyfield over Valuev and Haye over Wlad. Its the same kind of fights. Some punches and connects, some punches the air........................
I have never seen a fight, in which the winner throws and misses so many punches. Wlad connects like 20 - 30 punches at all, Haye connects 5-6 times in every round................. But going forward and throwing many punches seems to be the key to victory at the moment.....................RJJ and SRL would have lost many fights now a days..............:-(
Even David Haye thought he lost... DAVID HAYE... Guess you should reconsider how you score fights... How can you compare the tactics of an old Holyfield and an old Hopkins to RJJ and SRL?
