Im afraid Juanma will not improve

Hes an exciting fighter and good for boxing, even with his flaws. I wouldnt want him to be a defensively sound fighter tbh

 

Needs ****ing defense and I think hes fine honestly.

 

He hasn't improved at all in the last 3 years so my guess is he'll never improve. The guy gets too WILD after the first few rounds and just goes on full offense. He does the same sht EVERY TIME.

 

Pretty much spot on. Guy goes full crackhead as soon as he lands a good punch.

 

I did and I didn't like what I saw. He's fan friendly exciting fighter, but he fights that way with Gamboa or Salido forget about it. I used to criticize Gamboa for being too power hungry with ko power, but he's a better fighter now. It doesnt matter Juanma kod Deleon in 1 and Gamboa by technical decision point is Gamboa wins. Idk, I might be too quick to judge maybe Juanma was unafraid of Olivers power after tasting it maybe thats why he swang for the fences. Same ol Juanma to me.

 

Puerto rico has amazing prospects that just never get developed because of training deficiencies the best thing that could have happened to Cotto was to split his uncle and his ***get best friend /trainer that sucked balls... if the puerto rican guys outsourced training more we would see an surge on title holders again.. but hey why do that ill train with my dad... ODLH should be praised for always trying to add people to his camp regardless of the end result

 

Unfortunately it's hard to be "quick to judge" when we saw the same things against Concepcion, Rafa Marquez, and ultimately Salido and Oliver.

I'd like him to become more fundamentally sound defensively, because in the long-run it will make him more exciting if he can still bring that aggression and power longer and against higher competition without jeopardizing his chances to even survive the fight. Sadly, I have my doubts as to whether or not that will ever happen.

 

Was still getting caught with silly shots against Oliver.

 

One of the reasons Juanma does not improve is he has too much ego

 

Gamboa would KO him so easy.

 

Gamboa would walk all over Juanma and i would pay to see it

Was among the first hyping this kid when most picked De Leon, but that remains his best performance to date and hasn't improved since. IMO he reached his maximum which is still good to win another FW and a SFW belt, but the flaws and lack of elite speed, mobility and reflexes will always be his downfall come the right opponent, I just never though Salido would be one of them.

Most important thing is that he comes to fight and has a pretty good game, and that's enough for me. Go JuanMa!

 

Worse part of it is that Juanma has taken too much punishment in his young career.

 

I think he has declined. Less disciplined than ever now. Anyone from the local scene in PR know if he parties too hard between fights?
