Sexy Sergio Calls Miguel Cotto a P***y

Why's everyone pissing on Sergio? I don't speak Spanish but I am pretty sure Sergio did not insult anyone during that interview. From what the translator dished out I understand Sergio wants a rematch with Margarito but Cotto is a roadblock because Miguel has potential to beat Marg in their rematch. Even if Sergio is talking a bit of trash..what's the big deal? That's how you start a fight - by calling a guy out followed up by derogatory comments. At least SM is trying hard to land a big fight. A closed mouth won't get fed.

 

cotto used to come in HVY as **** but that was a long time ago, he once came in at 159 for a fight like 5 years ago BUT thats long gone and he is keeping it closer to his target nowadays by +/- 5 pounds. i never said he coudnt make the weight just that martinez thinks he deserves a Big fight with the smaller guys but isnt willing to go up it doesnt have to be Bernard... BTW he did get exposed by Barker

 

Sorry but he has not built himself into a very good fighter.

Foreman was on one leg and still gave him problems. Mayorga hasn't won a fight in 10 years.

170 is only 5 more pounds than what he was at yesterday ... so its cool for him to fight manny for 154 but come in at 165 but not cool for him to fight bhop at 170 and bhop comes in at 180...

 

What B-Hop comes in after rehydration doesn't matter, contracted weight does matter, if Sergio's ***** ass would stop calling out WW to fight for his middleweight title I would have respect for him, but this **** with the blatant ducking of Super Middles and Light Heavies is pissing me off.

 

He's willing to go down to 150 to fight Manny and he's willing to go up to 164-165 I think he said. That's a 14lb range he'll fight in, that's pretty big range.

He's small for a middleweight anyway. Ortiz was 164 Vs Mayweather fighting at Welter. Where's the calls for Ortiz to fight Hopkins?

This is madness expecting Martinez to be able to fight anywhere from 150 to 170. It doesn't work like that.

 

Dunno if he actually called Cotto a *****, but he has every right to be frustrated. Having beaten Williams*2, Pavlik, Dzinziruk and Barker back-to-back-to-back, you'd expect he would get a genuine big fight, he's regarded better than any other fighter at 154 and 160 after all. Cotto however made it very clear he doesn't want to get beaten for peanuts, of something like that of Pavlik's caliber - why not call him out on that?

If Pirog is supported in his trash talk, why can't you support Martinez when he negotiates through the media, like Dmitry, he wants a big fight himself, let it be 154lbs or 160, and opening his mouth about it, that's the sweet science way. Also, trashing Martinez but not Cotto seems kinda funny. Why is Sergio obligated to fight Pirog, no name value at all, but not Cotto to face Martinez, someone of higher boxing ranks?

 

He's calling out the top 2 p4p fighters. Both of whom have won titles at light middleweight in the past. And he's willing to fight them 4 lbs below the light middle limit.

Ortiz was 164 vs Mayweather. Martinez was 165 last night when fighting at middleweight! He'd be smaller than Ortiz if he went down there anyway.

 

Ortiz can come in on fight night whatever he wants, he fights at the welterweight limit.

I don't give a **** where they are ranked P4P, they are 2 weight divisions below him, why do we give him a cop out for wanting to fight those WW but when B-Hop a guy two divisions calls his ***** ass out he wants to talk about being too small.

 

B-Hop came in at 156 pounds against De La Hoya, was he a small middleweight?

I don't like Martinez calling out the welters, just like I don't think he should have to face the super middles. There are some good fights at 160 he should keep fighting.

 

Dzinziruk clearly has the best resume in the division. That's partly a function of his having been there longer than anyone else, but if we're going by accomplishments alone he still gets the nod IMO. H2H, I think his jab still gives everyone there fits as well.

 

Ah, I did forget about the Razor. He's been off the map since moving up and getting punked. Hopefully he gets back in the mix with his confidence unbroken.

h2h I think he's up there with Lara and Molina around the silver-medal spot on the podium, but doesn't beat Cotto.


Dzyna does clearly have the best jab in the division (Cotto has the 2nd best). Junito edges him in every other department.

Pavlik went up and fought him because PAVLIK is a big middleweight,who weighed up around 170 on fight nights. Not someone like Martinez who is really a natural light middleweight,who weighs in at 157/158 for 160 lbs fights.

What 140 pound fighters is he calling out??

Cotto is the 154 champ, Margarito is a big 154 lbs fighter. He weighed 165 in the ring against Pac,when he had to weigh 150 at weigh in.
