no doubt....how can anyone not like sergio? besides the UK can claim him..hes a man without a country...but they are pissed off he hangs out in the u.s.
There's historical bad blood between Argentina and England for political reasons. I'm not surprised one bit by what Sky was saying. The fact that Sergio is Argentine no doubt contributes significantly to the situation.
There are many things I don't like about him. But one thing that gets me is Pavlik gave Martinez a shot at the title. Martinez makes the slitting the throat gesture at the weight in, I don't like that. And when Pavlik is bleeding profusely Martinez starts show boating, I dont like that either. And then to top it all off Martinez does not give Pavlik a rematch at 164. Pavlik gave you a shot at the title Martinez you owe him. Pavlik had no problem giving Taylor a rematch at 164 which was what Taylor demanded. Plus the guy thinks he has style but looks like sht, his hair cut is rediculous. He also compleatly butchers the slick style of boxing also imo.
You must have been in bits when Martinez starting punching Pavlik in the face. This content is protected "Don't hurt him! He gave you a title shot!"
Thats not what bothers me, its that Pavlik gave Martinez a pay day and he did not need to. Pavlik did Martinez a favor by giving Martinez a shot and Martinez won't even move up 4 pounds to face a non weight drained Pavlik for the rematch.
He beat Kelly Pavlik conclusively. Why would there be a rematch? "Thanks for the pay day mate. I'll give you a return bout." That's not quite how it works, Red.
His wins against Williams and Pavlik were great but two big wins all alone shouldn't charge someone high up to #3 so quick.
Yes he needed to give him a title shot. Pavlik was supposed to fight Williams who lost to Martinez, that fight was called off so the best replacement was Martinez. Pavlik didn't exactly have a lot of options to choose from so he needed Martinez as much as Martinez needed him.
Anyone should feel privileged to get a shot at the middle weight title espesially if they have hardly fought at middle weight. Martinez should have given Pavlik the rematch at 164. After all Pavlik did the same thing for Taylor.
Pavlik did a rematch for Jermain Taylor at 164 even though he kocked him out. Pavlik did not take for granted the shot Taylor gave him. Maybe thats how they do things in Argentina though.
so pav gave a 154 pound guy a shot at 160....now hes suppose to give the 160 pound pav a shot but let him come in at super middleweight this time...after having his very first middleweight fight...? come onnnnn mannnnnnn
