Neither guy has faced anyone near as fast as the other. They'd both have problems with the speed they were faced with, at least early on.

mainly it's the style that pac has to deal with. i don't know if pac's ready to fight someone who punches then grabs you tight immediately, dips low pre-emptively, and turns head sideways or in directions where you are not allowed to hit him. these plus the use of elbows that he gets away with and all the other tricks plus theatrics pre-fight.. these are the things pac has to deal with aside from floyd's speed and skills.

one reason is *******s or pac fans have been spoiled with fights vs DLH, Hatton, Cotto, Clottey, Margarito. All had the wrong styles to beat Pacman.

So a professional fighter with 42 fights as a pro is a *****. A guy who was ready to fight and agreed to everything the other camp wanted and only asked for pre fight blood and urine to make sure its a fair fight with pure natural skills and stamina is a *****? :huh

so if their speed is near as fast as each other ....what factors would come into play other than that?

dont cry man...unless pbf fights pacman...pbf is a ***** in my eyes and to the eyes of many.....i just cant see it any other way...size advantage - pbf, stylewise advantage - pbf, heck ill put money on pbf if they ever fight but pbf just to ***** to fight pacman....

back to topic...someone said about style...pac gets frustrated with fighters with movement (see cotto run away from pac)...pbf style plus speed...i think pac gets lost in there, frustrated....

To answer your question, yes, Pac can cope with the speed of Floyd. I think Pac is even faster than Floyd.

I think, depending on the circumstances and the pace of the fight, Pac will struggle with Floyd’s speed more than Floyd will struggle with Pac’s.

Floyd’s speed is a different kind to Pac’s. His is more explosive. As in, from the moment he decides to launch his punch, to the moment it reaches its destination, it’s faster. Pac’s speed is generated speed. He has to wind up and be in the midst of throwing combinations for his to shine through. His five-punch combination will be faster than Floyd’s five-punch combination, but Floyd’s single pot-shot is quicker than Pac’s single pot-shot. And if you ask me which is the more dangerous, I’d say the single bullet-like pot shot. With the fast flurry coming your way, you can at least anticipate it a little easier and cover up. A single pot-shot, however, comes at you as a surprise. It can come and go without you even knowing.

If you mean "handle" as in see the punches coming, the lower weights have already trained Pac for it.
"Fast welters" will always be "slow", say in a featherweight's perspective.

If you mean if he can evade Floyd's punches all the time, the answer is no.
Pac will be eating a lot of right hands, that's a definite, which is why, unlike other people here, I believe that Pac's resiliency to Floyd's punches will play a crucial role.
This, however, is not a "speed" issue but rather a typical southpaw stance issue.

Since, as succintly pointed out by Uncle Rico, Pac's speed coms from "generate speed", you have to make him respect your power to stop him from throwing his lightning fast combos.

It's a bad analogy, but the Pac-Margarito bout highlights this point.
Although Margarito was landing, Pac was still powering through with his combos, and the usual ending is Pac pushing Margo back with it or simply getting the better of the exchanges.
Ergo, Mayweather must pot shot and then move away or clinch Pac to effectively disrupt Pac's ryhtmn if he's as soft handed as many people claim.
