USS Cunningham was robbed.

as far as the 1st round, dude took a wicked shot and got up to fight and was going on to win the fight, a shame we were robbed of a great fight like that.

 

I don't know if 'robbed' is quite right, but (a) he should have lost his title to Ross anyway and (b) he arguably was knocked out in the first round. I had Cunningham up by a point, and the widest card was awful, but it wasn't a blatant robbery.

Now that Cunningham is out in favor of someone even chinnier than he is, I suspect we'll see Huck unifying. No way he doesn't knock Hernandez out.

 

Totally disagree with that. The same as saying he Lewis should have lost his title to Vitali. I really didn't see Ross dominating Cunningham to any degree, in fact that fight was arguably in Cunningham's favour, or at worst (for USS) a point in Ross's favour.

 

He clearly made the count.

 

either way , fighting 5 times in 5 years doesnt do much for your reflexes......**** like this happens with inactivity

 

where in the rules do you have 10 seconds to get up? its a 10 count dummy....they dont put a damn stopwatch on the guy.....newbie assumption on your part....i get it

 

Just finished watching the fight and it should of been over in the first. I replayed it several times and keep counting USS out! That was a long count to be honest. Not only did he get a break there but his corner bought him some more recovery time as well.

Steve did do a great job of shaking out the cobwebs from the knockdown and getting back into the fight. at the time of the stoppage I actually had it a draw! and I would not of argued with a SD either way. It did look as though Cunningham was picking up momentum, who knows he could of got clipped again by Hernandez.

I do think there needs to be a rematch.

I had never seen that bit of the ref helping Hernandez up ( in a previous fight), that is insane and just wrong!

 

the doc openly admitted that he just stopped the fight to save Hernandez even though there was no medical reason to stop the fight. its the same doc who wanted to stop Abraham vs Miranda I when Abraham suffered a broked jaw but once the matchmaker next to him told him that it then would be ruled as a TKO win in favor of Miranda he completely changed his mind and allowed Abraham to continue.. when Brahmer got turned into a bloody mess by Sukhotsky he allowed him to continue.. the same doc. he didn´t want to stop the Sylvester vs Proksa fight on the same card either and there was way more blood because there were no headbutts. so he doesn´t stop fights on babycuts unless its in favor of his boy

that referee was just an overstrained fool.. he didn´t even see that there was a punch he ruled it as a slip and started a count when he realized that Hernandez was actually hurt. maybe someone scremed at him from outside the ring or whatever but that was just a noob rather than a corrupt ref

 

Ok, I rewatched it looking at the seconds on the actual time from the fight. Cunningham went down at :36 left of the clock and stood up right at :26. That is very close! I understand about the extra time a ref gives a fighter after he's up, yes it's subjective I don't have a problem with that. Still it was very close and could of been counted out by another ref.

But still Chitown, I cannot agree with it being a robbery the fight was very close and could of gone either way, so calling it a robbery is a bit much.

Or maybe you are reffering with the fact that Cunningham was robbed of a chance to really beat Hernandez as it looked like he was gaining momentum. I could understand a viewpoint for that. But there still is the chance that Hernandez could of landed another Left hook on Cunningham and finished him off as well.

Clearly the Doctor was biased as he thought Cunningham was given favor in the Knockdown. This is just wrong, a doctor should not be strategizing favors.

They should make an imediate Rematch.:good
