who was the last good fighter to come out of france? i think it would have done him a world of good if he stepped up to the plate and called out ashley theophane for a fight at 147. frankies been ducking him for a while now

an on form frank gavin would deal with theophane and any welter in britain imo

the problem is getting him to perform at his best. tibbs is a good trainer though, not as good as he could be getting but certainly will bring him on and if frankie is still attacking the pies and puts in a poor performance next time i think we can then say he has more problems than we thought but i will reserve judgement until i see him

that's exactly what i meant. different people are winning the amateur championships every two years, i doubt they are hyped the way gavin has been.

Respect to Frankie for deciding to be a part of the kids life. But it's a shame he had that bond IMO as it lets her off and means she has a rich guy to make her life as a mother a whole lot easier when she was in fact cheating on him.

But it's good for the kid, and the child is totally innocent so fair play and hopefully with personal issues in the past Frankie can focus on his career and get the most out of his natural talent.

I hope it all goes well, but when someone has to declare something like this it always make me suspicious. You are a pro, the funtime should have been over as soon as the vest came off

Anyways, new trainer, new location lets wait and see..

What would Theophane gain from stepping up to 147?

Everyone's ducking someone even when they're not ducking them at all.

I actually would have really liked to have seen the fight at 140. But at 147 it means next to nothing for me. The Purdy fight is the 1 i wonna see

Who else is he blaming? He said he had the flu for Mutley, but that he didnt do enough in training. What excuses has he made? He said he's last two performances wasnt good enough, he isnt giving an excuse, he is being honest.

    Did you read the article?

Frankie Gavin brings out the armchair expert in a lot of people. Because Barry Mcguigan said (in a slightly hyperactive moment) that Frankie could be the biggest waste of British boxing talent, etc.

All you can do is judge him on if he wins or loses. He looked bored against Woodhouse and took 10/12 rounds for me. He took every round off Mutley. So if that’s him performing badly, imagine what he’ll do when he performs well again.

If people applied half the criticism to DeGale that Frankie gets, the world would be a better place. DeGale lost his first step-up yet no one goes on about his training, coaching, etc.

It’s become like an obsession with Frankie recently.
