you cannot ignore the Hearns fight. Tommy hearns couldn't miss with his right hand and Arguello would hit also!!

Not even sure why this needs to be pointed out, but clearly, it does when I'm looking at some responses in this thread.

I have Duran with a late round KO. The outcome would be similiar to what happened to Arguello with Pryor. Duran has a much much better defense.

pryor was quicker than Duran. I think Arguello right stops Duran and crazy as it sounds. Hearns landed his right from the start against duran and had nothing to do with age or in shape or anything. He found a home and hit Duran is something like 20 rights!!!

what a *****!! cannot handle a boxing message board. if you were a boxer you would do whatever your opponent wanted you to do. you get too upset by little things and cannot handle much. it is a message board and you need a diaper change.

To be honest, a mismatch. I know how that sounds because Arguello was a great, great fighter in his own right, but he was too deliberate to ever beat Duran. Arguello just does not have anything like the movement necessary to trouble Duran, and he'd need it here.

He is not outmuscling, outhustling or outfighting Duran. Not at 135.

Very hard to pick a winner in this one. Arguello had extremely precise combinations while Duran was a wild man but still very technical and skilled in his own way. I picture Duran doing to Arguello kinda what Pryor did. I think it would be a war and Arguello would surely get in some very damaging combinations but Duran would keep on coming with his swarming attack and wear Arguello out and eventually finish him with a flurry of punches.

I wouldn't call Duran a wild man, because he threw his punches in a very precise manner, often in combinations. To me the two key differences are Duran's body punches, which he'd be throwing throughout the fight, and his ability to take/avoid a punch. Arguello would have to keep the fight on the outside to have any chance of winning, inside, Duran would eat him up.
