Maitua showed a lot of promise and I think he's going to go even better in 2012 with a proper pre-season under his belt.
Mmm don't want to be a wouser, but I doubt it. Top 8 definitely. Expect a resurgent Raiders and Roosters...
Their are some astounding figures being thrown around with regards to Hopoate. If they have offered this 19 year old winger who will be coming back from 2 years out of the game more than 400k a season then whoever negotiated and signed the deal should be shot. Quite possibly the worst recruiters in the game out at Parramatta. They seem to get as giddy as schoolgirls if they can sign anyone whose name has been in the papers that particular year, meanwhile eight former Parra players (including six juniors) compete in the grand final - would have been nine barring injury to the wolfman.
Yeah I agree. I think Parra are still dirty on Jamie Lyon coming back from UK to the Sea Eagles and I know they are dirty at losing T Rex.
I disagree mate to be honest. Parramatta have money to burn at the moment and they've signed a guy that is potentially going to be their mainstay in the backline for the next decade. As far as I remember, Willie Tonga signed a 2 year deal, so he's probably a straight swap for Hopoate. The new salary cap will be in place then as well. I'm also loving the fact we get one back on Manly.
400K is insane money for a winger. What other winger in the game will be on that sort of coin? I dont really know any other winger thats even on 300K+ That aside, its a pretty mean looking backline. But they'll need some more fire power up front if they wanna get the best out of it. Moi Moi cant do it all on his own.
i have to agree with this. you only need look at the money theyre throwing at the human question mark chris sandow, essentially gambling on his ability to ride the line between brilliant and woeful on any given day. they picked up a dads army team of has beens last year half of whom were retired by mid season. their throwing lotto figures at a kid who has shown promise but hasnt really gotten into the grind of life as a footballer yet and will essentially have to retrain him and again gamble that the mormons havent turned him into a complete passenger by the time he gets back theyve thrown away a coach that got them to a premiership and all the while theyve had enough names come and go in the past 10 year to stack 3 premiership sides.
I must've missed when Daniel Anderson got Parra a premiership. Not only have Parra signed Will Hopoate, but also his younger brother, who apparently has loads of potential. Will won't be a winger when he returns. He's got centre written all over him.
You're right, but it's done and dusted. Realistically, Anderson managed to put together 8 or so decent weeks in his time at the helm.
