Absolutely the number 1 ugliest slapping fighter in boxing history. I think that Lucy Ball had better boxing technique then this King Of The Bums.

That is a joke right? Eubank fought twice more and lost, both fights 20Lbs north of SMW. He was way, way past his best when Calzaghe feasted on his bones.

Here we go with the bull**** again,

Chris Byrd has said that he has never faced Joe before, but that he wouldnt mind as a pro ( some time back)

Joe never mentioned this mystery fight in his book !!

This fight never happened and this BS is passed from UK forum to forum.

Typical BS from the calzaghe fans !!

Bumping him up with a great international win that never existed , just parroting it cause they heard it somewhere

Glad you wrote this, british fans really love their myths, like Ali had 5 minutes to rest against Cooper, and Hatton lost because of referee...LOL i would like to see somewhere data about Byrd fighting Calzaghe...and really dont pump up Calzaghe amateur days since he fough only british fighters with no big tournament.

The words "couldn't", "paper bag" and "slap" come to mind here.

What about all of Morales wars for example :patsch

    Read on

How far past prime was Eubank to you then?
Eubank had lost a close decision to Collins, that many thought he won, had a couple of tune ups and rematched Collins to a SD, had a couple of tune ups and lost clearly to underdog Calzaghe. After that loss Eubank went up to CW and challenged world champ Thompson losing a very close decision and then rematched Thompson losing on injury when ahead. Thats Thompson who years later past his best KOd D Haye.
Consider Eubank only had 2 losses to one fighter when he fought Calzaghe, the second by SD to a world champ and was 31 then went on to challenge a big CW flooring him etc, how past his prime do YOU think he was?
Remember Kessler is Wards big win and was the same age as Eubank here and had around the same amount of fights

Remember when you make silly comments about losses was G Johnson considered past his prime when years ago after losing to Hopkins he went 7-9-2 including the Hopkins loss

I dont know or care if Calzaghe beat Byrd as an amateur or not, but find a source to prove it didnt happen because all I have seen is articles saying it did and copies of amateur records showing it did.

Calzaghe was a very formidable finisher. He hurt many fighters then unloaded barrages where they were too hurt to fire back.

I will not find a source for something that didnt happen, if it didnt happen there is no source.

How about you contact Joe C and ask him, ask his father , drop into their gym.

    There was no fight !

Joes book , fight not mentioned, he hardly forgot it now did he ?

There are plenty of sources to say it happend, whether thay are correct or not. I have also seen that people have written that it is in Joes book, but I have not read that myself.
    Someone
Which fights are you refering to? You dont seem to really know your facts and keep getting schooled. So be careful :yep

Calzaghe's top wins: Hopkins, Kessler, Lacy, Reid, Mitchell, Brewer, Eubank

Out of those 7 top wins only one got knocked out (TKO). And Calzaghe has a 70% KO ratio.

Calzaghe also knocked out (TKO) Richie Woodhall, other than those two knock outs (TKO's) Calzaghe hasnt knocked out (or TKO'd) a former or future world champ.

Look at Calzaghe's top KO victories:-

    Tyler Hughes
    Frank Minton

    And thats it.

Look at Calzaghe's top TKO victories:

    Mitchell
    Woodhall
    Veit X2
    Tocker Pudwill ATG tribute threaded
    Will McIntyre
