Anderson missed out on the semis the following season. You're right, it does speak for itself. 2011 was always going to be a rebuilding year for Parra. Next season with Sandow and Tonga on board and Maitua with a full preseason, will see a vast improvement.

Ozbourne got rid of Anderson because he was sick of Parra having up and down seasons. Consistency has been restored now, with 2 down seasons, so all should be well with the board.

Kearney basically has similar credentials as the incoming Souths coach, Michael McGuire. They both served under him for a while, and both have had some sort of success in other fields with Kearney winning a world cup, and McGuire taking Wigan to a premiership.

For mine, this is Kearney's crunch season, which is why he has probably gone all out to get whatever signings he can. Knowing how swiftly the Parra board like to yield the axe, Kearney cant afford to have another year where Parra dont make the finals.

My only worry with Kearney is if he creates a divide within the team.

They bought some quality players to bolster the squad. I like ben roberts...he just needs to minimise his mistake rate because he " overplays" on just about every play. But he's strong and has a good footy brain...he just needs to limit the brain farts. If he holds down a regular spot, that might allow him to.

Ive heard that osborne isnt very popular amongst the players though. I suppose ceo's arent there to win a poularity contest and players are too spoilt these days anyway....but the guy is a former politician so he must have a bit of wanker in him

The eels werent too bad this year. With the new signings, ive got them top 4 material in 2012.

Early bird top 4 for 2012 ( no particular order)

    Manly
    Souths
    Parra
    Warriors

I really dont rate Ben Roberts. Terrible, terrible player for mine, and if he plays 5/8, Parra will have the leakiest halves pairing in the comp, and perhaps ever. I'd rather pursue with Hayne there. At least he's pretty rock solid defensively.

NRL star Tim Moltzen has signed contracts with both Wests Tigers and St George Illawarra Dragons

SYDNEY powerhouses Wests Tigers and St George Illawarra are at war over Tim Moltzen because the star utility has signed official NRL contracts to play for both clubs next season.

The Tigers say Moltzen wasn't granted a mid-season release and should not have signed with the Dragons.

The NRL is preparing to step in to resolve the dispute through a contract appeals committee.

Moltzen still had a Tigers contract for next year when he signed a rich three-year deal with Saints in July.

At the time, it appeared he was unwanted by Tim Sheens, whose Tigers were facing enormous salary cap pressure.

But it seems Moltzen was never officially released and his Tigers contract for next year has been registered with the NRL.

St George Illawarra also have a contract signed by Moltzen and want him at pre-season training next month.

The fullback and centre was signed by Saints to cover for departing stars Darius Boyd and Mark Gasnier.

It is understood Moltzen's manager, Martin Tauber, met with Wests Tigers recruitment manager ****** McDonnell yesterday.

Tigers sources deny money suddenly became available for Moltzen due to the probable sacking of halfback Robert Lui, who yesterday was linked with Souths and North Queensland. The Tigers were last night trying to find out why Tauber took his client to the Dragons.

A friend of Moltzen said: "He doesn't want to go to the Dragons. He never did."

Superstar Benji Marshall - who lives with Moltzen in Sydney's northwest - was known to be filthy that his mate was being squeezed out of the Tigers.

One source close to the Tigers said: "The NRL will have to get everyone in a room and sort this out."

Wests Tigers chief executive Steve Humphreys was unavailable for comment yesterday but Dragons CEO Peter Doust issued this statement on the club's website last night: "Tim Moltzen and his manager have signed a three-year deal with the Dragons. We have not had any conversations or received any other information from Tim or his manager that would suggest he would not be at the Dragons in 2012."

It is believed Saints won't meekly allow Moltzen to stay with the Tigers.

Tauber did not return calls last night but told AAP early yesterday: "I only got back from New York yesterday afternoon and I have no idea what it is all about.

"I've got a meeting with the Tigers today and that's when I will know exactly what is going on. He has definitely signed with the Dragons, but now there is talk of a release, so I am now off to find out more."

NRL officials are not commenting but will be hoping the two clubs can settle the drama.

St George Illawarra caused a stir when they issued a media statement announcing Moltzen's signing just hours before the Tigers' vital round-18 match against Parramatta on July 8.

At the time, Humphreys accused Saints of being arrogant and disrespectful, claiming the Dragons announced Moltzen's signing without the Tigers' knowledge. Doust claimed he was bemused by Humphreys' comments and signed Moltzen in "good faith".

If Lui is axed, Moltzen could play halfback for the Tigers next season.

Losing Moltzen would be a devastating blow for Saints, who will be without Boyd, Gasnier and coach Wayne Bennett.

The Dragons statement on July 8 read: "The St George Illawarra Dragons on Friday announced that Tim Moltzen has agreed to a three-year contract that will see him join the club from next season until at least the end of 2014.

"The Terrigal Sharks junior is currently contracted with Wests Tigers and made his NRL debut against the Dragons in Round 1 of the 2008 season.

"Moltzen is a utility player who can play as either a centre, fullback or in the halves and has made a career total of 52 NRL appearances to date. He will join the Dragons in November."
