He had more muscle maturity post prison, an that comes with age. No doubt he might have been on though. People think sports are clean when there not. Everyone from Tennis playes, to golfers, to boxers cycle. An honestly it doesnt help with performance as many people think it does.
I think most elite athletes take something from the banned list once in a while. Most of them don't see themselves as cheats because they are convinced the other guys are doing it more extensively than they are - and sometimes they are right ! It's pretty ****ing obvious that heavyweight boxers are going to be using some steroids once in a while. With all that money on the line, and the nature of the business (trading blows with 230-pound opponents), they'll all be looking for an edge. No one wants to be at the disadvantage.
I'm pretty sure that the Nevada commission didn't even test for steroids in 1991. I think they explained it was "too expensive" to do so. Ruddock was convinced Tyson was on steroids, but I wouldn't be surprised if Ruddock was on something himself. Often the athletes who accuse others and going on about tests are actually doing something themselves. It's all mind games.
it doesn't help as much as a lot of dopey people think but it helps. Its not as dangerous as people think is well A lot of people are under the impression that if they did P.E.Ds they would be a elite level athletes. the likes of mike tyson have won the ginetic lottery. they've got skills and attributes that few people have and will never get from any drug
Razor Ruddock made a massive transformation during mid stages of his development. He packed on **** loads of mass in a short period of time
I laugh when people think someone who used to steal old ladies handbags, bit an opponents ear off, binges on coke, would have any issue with taking steroids. He isn't in a minority though, most HWs today do use them.
Do you think Wlad perhaps started using steroids around the time after he lost to Puritty? Note: I wouldn't hold it against him, because of the enormous popularity of PEDs... it's the norm i reckon.
I think he used them before that, we know his brother tested positive in '96. Vitali was a 190-200lb beanpole when he was around 20-23
Christ! Thanks for the info. :good Amazing really that Tyson was 190-200lbs at 13-16, despite being 7 years younger at the same weight & up to 12" shorter than Vitali!* *Because he was 5'8 at 13.
This is Vitali at 22. It's hard to estimate his weight because he's so tall. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iTYjTvwOC6M[/ame] He definitely put on a lot of weight, although the kind of bulk we're talking about can be done without steroids. But it's a FACT that Vitali took steroids, got caught taking steroids, and admitted it too.
Not to say these guys didnt use roids, but most people make a general transition to a "heavier" body frame when they hit their late 20's. Look at a guy like Tony Tucker or Shannon Briggs, who in their late 20's were in the low 200's, as compared to where they were at in their 30's. Sure the infrequency of fighting has something to do with it, but generally people get heavier as they get older. I think that was the case with Tyson who fought in the low 200's in his early 20's and then sat in the joint overweight for three years. Tyson was up in the 270 range between fights late in his career. Tommy Brooks said he looked like he stole all the prisoners food, he was so heavy when he picked him up after he served time for the road range incident.
i got the lewis/ruddock prefight press..............and ruddock told lewis if he didnt take a steroid test he wa taking the next plane back to the usa ..................ruddock told the media at the lewis press conf that mike tyson paid the nevada athletic commision $25 000 not to take a steroid test/ ruddock said he would never fight a fighter again who didnt take the test................lewis took the test and the fight went on:smoke
