Floyd missed a lot against Ortiz

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by AutomaticBazuti, Oct 6, 2011.

  1. I rewatched Floyd Ortiz and Floyd hit ORtiz a lot, but he also missed quite a bit too. i know the argument is that Floyd's output went up, but if you think about it, Floyd's very accurate and ortiz is easy to hit, so shouldn't floyd have connected much more? it's like Floyd threw 100 punches a round. Is it ring rust? or did the little head movement Ortiz did give trouble money may? also, as badly as pac missed, he also landed a lot on mosley

Ortiz seemed to be focusing a lot on defence and staying away. At times he was forcing Floyd to chase him. It's no surprise that he then lowered Floyd's connect percentage. But in doing so, he gave up all of the rounds.

    :rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl

  5. I also don't think Floyd was "walking down" ortiz like some people are saying. i think he was very mindful of conserving his energy for the later rounds. he didnt come out blazing like in the bert-slut fight

Not even Floyd will land 50% every night vs every opponent. Ortiz is a southpaw, young, moves his head, keeps his hands up (lol, throughout the fight) and simply he's a southpaw which doesn't make it easiest. Every fight will be different.

Yawn. Mayweather looked extremely good. Ortiz looked slightly intiminated from the start. It was not the psycho move-forward-or-die Ortiz that fought Berto.

I was routing for Ortiz but he was not winning that fight... Floyd was starting to walk Ortiz down which told me Mayweather had his number. If a boxer/counterpuncher starts walking you down it's a wrap. Ortiz was suppose to be the aggressive pressure guy but he gave up mentally like a little ***** whch was why he headbutted Mayweather in the mouth. I never thought I would be defending Mayweather but the truth is the truth. Ortiz was on his way to a one sided beat down. He knew it too, that's why he got frustrated and headbutted Floyd. It's as simple as that.
