No, Coetzee-Snipes* was a clear robbery. Castillo-Mayweather I was a competitive fight that could have gone either way. *(Do your research, Junior, it's on youtube.)
this...^ i do agree that Ortiz was finding some success in the 4th round, but Floyd would have adjusted and still gotten Ortiz out of there. Ortiz simply isn't on the level of a Floyd... and I can't stand Floyd...
If Floyd backpedals he is running,if he stands and fights,he has no legs...He really is in a lose, lose scenario to his critics.. Also how is it people say Ortiz was winning in the 4th because he backed him up on the ropes?? Did you guys catch those combos that had Ortiz covering up?
because it was robbery. every non-hugger guy who can score a fight would tell you that castillo was robbed in that fight. yeah. i was merely being too generous for floyd. 7-5 should have been a CLEAR win for castillo. agree, there was no clear winner on round 9.
First of all the fight was only 4 rounds...anyone who knows Mayweather knows that he becomes increasingly more accurate at the fight wears on. Second, through four rounds Mayweather already connected on 39% of his punches while Ortiz only connected on 18%. So its reasonable to believe that Mayweather would have landed in the 40-45% territory by the end of the fight. Second, a fighter who is winning a round or the fight, according some posters on this thread, doesnt headbutt his opponent. Yes, Ortiz caught Mayweather with a few punches in that fourth round, but he never really had Mayweather in trouble and he punctuated "all these punches he was landing against Mayweather" with a headbutt. Not the actions of a fighter who is controlling or winning a fight. Mayweather's recent style of fighting will obviously put him in the position to be hit more often...we're seeing the same thing with Hop in his recent fight. His willingness to trade has increased and so will his fights in the fan-friendly department. Its make for a more exciting fight, but it doesnt indicate that Mayweather is beatable. Lets say Ortiz tops out at around a 20-25% connect rate...he still doesnt beat Mayweather over 12 rounds.
