Mayweather went into that fight like he had absolutely no respect for Ortiz boxing ability and took more chances. But Mayweather also did a similar thing in the Judah fight. Judah landed some quality shots and had Mayweather missing then by the 5th rd it was ALL Mayweather. Excep Judah actually won like 2 rds. Ortiz ARGUABLY won 1.

Mayweather won the 4th. Ortiz had 2 moments in the 4th with Mayweather on the ropes. The first one he missed most of his shots. The second was before the head but which he lost a pt for automatically making him lose the 4th. Mayweather had the flurry in the beggining and landed about 3-4 hard right hands making Ortiz head snap sprinkled within that rd.

Mayweather landed the harder cleaner shots, Ortiz had way less clean shots then Mayweather, Mayweather had the higher output, and was controlling the pace of the fight. Ortiz didn't win any aspect of scoring.

He also made people look very foolish who doubted and talked **** that he would fight toe to toe and not back up. Now all of a sudden "Ortiz was just looking to box".

Ortiz's defence was decent in the fight. He bounced around well and had his hand up high MOST of the fight while showing a little head movement.
But Floyd landed 49% of his power shots so it's cool

you are reading into 12 minutes of a fight with a guy being a little rusty...who came on enough in that 12 minutes to make ortiz short circuit...
ortiz is 24 years old....pac landing alot on mosley who was almost 40 and shot years ago, is a bad comparison

Agree. I predicted this would happen as far as Ortiz mental breakdown. The headbutts was from frustration.

Ortiz moved back quickly out of reach range, and that's how Floyd missed most of his punches. It wasn't great defense by Ortiz, he just backpedaled quickly out of reaching range. Best defense is when you can stay in reach range, make your opponent miss, and still be able to land your own punches in the process. Beside it was only a four rounds fight, so there's no way we should've known how Floyd's punches accuracy would've looked like if the fight had last for the next eight rounds.

I actually didn't think Ortiz was doing a bad job in the fight, I personally don't think Floyd "dominated" those rounds.

Floyd has definately slowed and that would be a concern against Manny or Martinez , but I thought he looked quite good.

    Probably 7 out of 10 .
