I don't necessarily believe he had the mental foundation of the greatest fighters ever though, but surely.. he's the most athletic fighter to embrace boxing.

Should've quit on top against John Ruiz.

No, there was Ray Leonard, Greg Page, and Hector Camacho. But he was an amazing talent nonetheless.

Just talking talent alone, he's certainly right up there with any fighter in the last 30 years.

    Come on

Whitaker was boring as hell and he had very little power.

    Jones was a machine

Most athletically gifted boxer possibly ever, Roy however wasn't gifted with the widest arsenal which later was his downfall when his reflexes started to fade, and some polished all-round skills were required to make up for it. You see that's where the real Roy Jones argument starts - exactly how gifted he was, outside of the incredible athletic abilities?

Overall, I say he's among the most talented, but not likely the best in the past 30 years, Whitaker, Floyd and Hopkins even have a strong argument.

rjj was great in his prime.but unfortunately you have to look at his whole career to judge how talented a boxer was or is,and rjj`s record is ****.

I believe so , Roy Jones was almost inhuman in his prime . He would've defeated everyone hes recently lost to with ease in his peak . But then again its arguable that Iron Mike Tyson was the most talented fighter in the last 30 years .

You're wrong. He was weight drained and gassed after 5 rounds against Tarver in the first fight...and he dug deep and won.

Against Montell Griffin the first time, he changed it up and was winning the fight after having been outboxed earlier before the DQ.
