    Alright people :good

I've been looking at getting a new headguard, was looking at Winning but after considering the overall price decided not to bother. Has anybody tried the Cleto Reyes/Grant headguards? If so, are either worth the investment?

"Too expensive" to "bother" to protect your brain? Oh the irony...

With that understanding, any head guard will do no?

I live in the UK, the Winning headgear is around $200, add shipping and tax to that, it's just too expensive.

I believe you, but it is your BRAIN!

Would that be the most expensive thing you own? If you are sparring hard enough to think about getting good head gear it may be worth skipping on some other things to get "the good stuff".

It is just weird because I hear this all of the time about other things like running shoes (knees), beds, investing, etc... People skimp on the MOST important things while splurging on the least important ones. :huh

Believe me, If I had the money to spend on a Winning headguard I would, that's why I asked if Grant/Reyes were worth getting, because there are places in the UK that stock them so I would only have to pay around £5 for postage.

I take it you don't think much of Grant/Reyes headguards? :yep

First, let me say that Slick is right, you can't skimp on brain protection.

Second, I've bought some things from Title Boxing and I get their mail brochures and email for sales.

The last one was 40% off headgear. I called and asked if they carried Winning, which they don't, but they said their Fighting Sports was a comparable product.

Considering the price difference, I'm not sure it can be the same quality, but I've not held either in my hand or used them so I can't say.

Anyway, here is that link: http://store.titleboxing.com/fighting-sports-headgear.html
