Johnson has proven that even at 42, he can compete at this level. Hes a complete pro. Hes also shown throughout his career that traveling to his opponents backyard doesnt phase him. Both men have a lot going for them in this fight. Bute throws a different variety of punches than most of Glens recent opponents, and hes also faster, but hes also vulnerable and yet to be tested against someone as established and cagey as Johnson. If Johnson hasnt slipped at all since his last few outings, I give him a very good chance to beat Bute and by knockout. That sneaky right hand will be what gets it done, if he does stop him. The only other result I can see is Bute staying a step ahead and using his quickness to outwork Jonson and make him look old. It wont be Calzaghe-Jones, but I think it will be long night for Johnson if he has trouble getting out of 1st gear. All things considered, my prediction is Johnson by TKO 11
It's interesting because both fighter have a lot to win and a lot to loose. If Bute win, he can pretend to be world class and ask for big fights with the best of the division. But a loss will be disastrous and a big set back. His career will not end there, but depend on how he loose we might question if he is world class. If Johnson win he will have a title and his career will have another boost to his long and fruitful career. He will be able to receive good offer and a payday he well deserve. If he loose he might retire because it will be hard for him to have another shot at a world title.
I'm looking forward to my favorite SMW getting back in the ring, but it's against one of my AT favs.......gonna be tough watching Johnson get KOd......real tough:verysad
I'm excited. I have my ticket and can't wait for November the 5th. I think Bute will be too fast and I also think he will be aggressive and take the center of the ring. Bute is very dangerous when he knows his opponent and since both men have sparred 90 rounds together...
Must be awesome to go to boxing events in Montreal. Awesome atmosphere that would break a lot of guys, not GJ though.
It will be in Quebec city. I think the ambiance is even better than in Montreal. You're right, that won't bother Glen Johnson but I'llbenjoy it. The undercard os also solid.
if bute beats johnson handily he will earn my respect and I will place him at the top 3 in the supermiddleweight division.
?? What I'm saying is Johnson is the underdog, so I think he's gonna give a tougher fight than a lot of people think.
It should be a fantastic fight: Bute knows he has to win in spectacular fashion. "Only" winning by UD wiould lower his stock considerably. - And Johnson likely sees this as his last chance at the bigtime, so he will probably be in great shape, and really bring it. For reasons I can't quite put into words, I really dislike Bute. I don't think Johnson has a great chance, but I sure am rooting for him. WAR JOHNSON !!
