To be fair 3 fights a year is pretty good for a world champion of today :-( Cant blame him really, Arum/Dunkin aint gonna risk him fighting for small money on top rank live cards. No boxing fans can be happy bout it, but its just an unfortunate sign of the times. Outside of the guys tied in with Zanfer no champs fight anymore, even the Zanfer lads have had a relatively quiet year. And Rios probably would have managed 4 if not for the hand injury ( I know four still isnt enough but anyway )
Why would Antillion have been an "easy" fight? He had previously given both Acosta and Soto very tough fights. Rios made a statement by demolishing him.
Be also said Kevin couldn't take the fight for 'legal reasons'. It seems that Mitchell was offered the fight and accepted, but it was out if his hands
Murray appearing on this card is a good look for him after the defeat against Mitchell. Even if he gets KO'd, which is a very likely result, as long as he gives a good account of himself then it could open doors for him. End of the day for entertainment value it's better to see John in the ring against Rios than against another European (or lower) level fighter in a boring comeback fight where he's expected to win.
After going on a bender preparing for Mitchell and dumping Joe G by text, a damn good thrashing might just be what the lad needs
antollion was absolutely diminished after the acosta fight he was able to muster something against soto but that guy is only an average champion, and even against soto he took a bit of a pounding, so he was ripe for the taking
Acosta didn't have any trouble with Antillon. also we all knew it would finish quick and thats why Rios was a huge favorite to win also like we all expected it finished quick.
It's a done deal. Rios by KO. Murray has been taking punishment for a while now and he will take a lot more in this one. You've got to wonder if this might be the end?
this time next year murray will be retired from the sport, hes got jamie moore written all over him a solid euro champion who was soundly beat by any1 approching world class
