deal:good:yep:nod(andanyotherapprovingemoticons) Oh, and another I'm interested like this, well, sort of, in the neighborhood, maybe, kind of, is Danny Garcia and Kendall Holt. It's coming up soon. I guess. What are you thinking for that?
You only missed ShoBox. I don't think Adama vs. Karmazin was televised in many parts of the country (let alone world), if anywhere at all.
Swift Garcia has shown flaws so far - but none of them have centered around his chin. (most have been mental/motivational issues) Otherwise I'd give Rated R a very good chance at upsetting this hungry young tree, since the theme of his 2011 campaign so far has been "Guess what? I'm still VERY ****ING POWERFUL!" Most likely outcome: Garcia UD Second most likely: Holt KO Will one or both go down: Not a sure thing, but about on par with "Barack Obama will be the 2012 democratic nominee for POTUS"
Karmazin, you mean? That one was a roll of the dice. :conf I don't regret that pick at all. There was no way of knowing whether he could pull one more out of the fire until it happened. A remotely non-shot Karmazin has no trouble beating an Osumanu Adama.
Yeah the Karmazin fight. In my breakdown (terrible shameful plug ) Adama is a tough cookie, thought he would do good work, especially, with that big contract waving in his face and thought he would have a great chance at an upset. Ended up rolling with the "safe" pick in Karmazin via MD? or may'be UD, but thought it would be close and perhaps controversial.
****, that was my first ever Kirk's ESB Championship loss...and I still don't regret it. :yep I had to see (or read, as it happens) with my own eyes that the old man was well and truly shot to bits and unable to beat a second-rater...even after the beating he took from Geale.
Yeah, I probably should have used a newer-ish band, but I just wanted to use the Bogere and the (rusty) cage pun. Figure it was a slow week, and thought about doing something a bit silly.
:? Well, Garcia can't win by UD after losing by KO, so it won't be both. Cintron could possibly get both. But, he's..."special". You're about where I'm at, maybe. Another smart but yet still very respectable fight to bring Garcia along, is what I'm thinking. He should be favored, but it's still valuable and possibly very tough, and hopefully a dangerous enough guy that Danny won't go into lala land while he's supposed to be stepping it up to another level, not treading water. But, Mike, Ashley, Nate, Kendall...I still like the way they're bringing him along. Holt did look impressively sharp to me in his last though...:think...Yes, I'm pretty interested to see how well Danny handles this one.
This year has been really good so far, the one regret is that it got to the point that updating the updates was very very difficult, especially when kirk disappeared for a bit. To get the p4p stat back, someone would have to go through 300 pages of featured fights, money bets and h2h picks. Percentage based on rankings is easy, even featured fights is doable. The other two seem genuinely impossible to track down especially with computer issues! Next year i'll do my best to keep a back up of the end of month stats for everyone (league, money, h2h, featured fights) so at worst all we have to do is look back over the previous month. I'm kinda annoyed I didn't do it this year but I honestly had no idea i'd be this active in the thread. Regarding karmazin, I think he did look like a man about to enter trial horse status. Like ouma he has the skills and savvy to beat these young guns. But also like ouma he is now the opponent and in today's terribly corrupt (not cheating but certainly unfair) boxing landscape, the only way to beat the house fighter is knockout or utter domination (even then lara didn't get the nod over williams) One last point, martinez's knockout record recently is amazing! His victims are cintron, williams, dzindzuruk and now barker. They're guys who are all the same size or bigger and aside from the frog, most are known as durable until martinez cracks them. He needs to take advantage of the division heating up now: sturm, macklin, lee, chavez jr, pirog, geale (marg also if he beats cotto). If he beats them all over the next 3 years he'll have been a 5 year champ and will hopefully have established his greatness.
