Atg list, will you put Hopkins higher than Jones if he beats Dawson?

Yeah, that's exactly what happened. That fight was like Calzaghe-Lacy performed by the one-armed man out of Twin Peaks.

Definitely. His lhw resume would be pretty impressive also.

By my cards he'd have beaten:

Tarver, wright, calzaghe, pavlik, jones jr, pascal (x2) and dawson. That's two of the best lhw's of the time, two of the best mw's, the best smw and dawson who is the next best lhw out there.

That's a pretty decent top 8 victories at the weight.

    Its tough to say
I know Jones has had many more LHW fights than Hopkins but Jones LHW resume is still better than Hopkins, even if Hopkins beats Dawson.
Hopkins lost to Calzaghe who was moving up and couldnt beat Pascal at first ask. Besides that people like Pavlik and Wright were a couple of divisions lower.
Jones did beat Gonzalez who became WBO LHW champ, Tarver who became #1 LHW, R Johnson etc.
The reason I find it tough to say is because we know Jones has cheated before

Hopkins can lose his next dozen bouts by 1st rd ko and will still be ahead of RJJ in the ATG List!

This . Also the reason he waited for Jones to get old to fight him again ..All he has over Jones is that he's a more successful 40 yr old

    No.

For me, the ATG list is a pound for pound, prime for prime list.

The best version of RJJ shits all over the best version of Bhop. RJJ wins 1000 out of 1000 fights prime for prime.

We have the HOF for recognising other achievements, such as having a long string of title defences, or being the first to unify a division, or for being the oldest guy to win a legit title.

The HOF are going to bow down to BHop and give him entry on first ballot while calling him 'Sir'. That's right and appropriate.

But on the ATG list? RJJ is a king, and Bhop is a squire.

He's already there and has been there in my mind since he made easy work out of Tarver.

Hopkins in my opinion already is higher then Jones for several reasons.
    1. He's never been KO
    2. He's the oldest champ ever in the history of the sport
    3. He's beating guys who are 10 years or more, younger then himself.
    4. He beat Tarver with ease, who Jones struggle with in three fights
    5. He out classed Jones in there second fight.
Should he loose to Dawson he should still be ranked higher then Jones, if he wins it just shows you how much better he is compared to Jones. Against a prime Jones it was a different story, but B hop intellect, conditioning and longevity prevails over Jones youth.
