Bob, with his right foot in the bucket, wouldn't catch a vigilant Tommy, who was far more savvy than Mike Quarry.
If Pierre Fourie could go the distance twice with Foster, Loughran, who went the route with, and beat Max Baer, would have no trouble. Tommy by dec.
Loughran probably wins a split decison over Foster, but he's going to feel some pain at some point due to the hook.
loughran would have been able to avoid Fosrter's great power and jab, move and box to a 15 round decision.
Seamus!! :wall:rofl Dammit!:rofl:good Behave yourself! PS: I take it your wife finished reading "Born to Run" by now, as you mentioned to me at the end of August in the Marciano vs Johnson thread. I found it entertaining enough to enjoy reviewing it now, while convalescing from a case of severe CPAP induced bronchitis.
Ouch. Get better. Yeah, she finished it and started doing 15+ mile runs and hurt her knees. I finally got her to do some cross training.
Foster knock outs out Loughran. Loughran with his low hands would crumble under one of Foster's left hooks. Loughran never fought a tall fighter with a long stinging jab like Bob Foster's. Loughran thought Carnera's jab was tough? Wait until he runs into Foster. It would be a fight all the way at long range until late when foster pours on the pressure and knocks out loughran with a left hook. Loughran was very cagey, crafty, and skilled but Foster had the far superior tools coupled with the skills, jab, and power. Foster KO 13 Loughran
Foster might not have been a bigger puncher than some of the heavyweights that Loughran fought but he had a far greater delivery system. It wasn't that Loughran had an unbreakable chin, he was just rather adept at making opponents miss. If he gets hit by Foster, he would be in trouble. The question is whether Foster can land the big punch. I would not point out to the Pierre Fourie fights when Foster was an aged 35 years old. The Ray Anderson fight is more interesting. Anderson had a glass jaw but he had the legs of a marathon runner and put them to good use against Foster, running shamelessly from him in an effort to last out the distance, which he managed. Loughran could potentially befuddle Foster with his movement, but at some point he would have to make a stand and that's where the danger comes. Loughran better hope he will not get caught cold as against Leo Lomski, because he would not have been coming back from a near KO against Foster. He would have to be "on his toes" the whole 15 rounds.
I would say that if Foster is pinning his chances on hurting Loughran with his power, then he has prety much lost before the opening bell.
