Kell looked impressive tonight but then the old Pole did not offer much at all, it can look rosey when the guy is just in front of you not doing anything. How would our Kell fair vs live 147 fighters like Berto or Ortiz?? I am holding my judgement on Kell until he fights a live fighter who can ask some questions of him.
That would be a good step up and give us more readings of Kell's style, Paulie can be akward and can box well.
The last two fighters have stylistically suited Kell he needs to fight someone who's got movement and speed at the least. I remember against Jennings who gave him lateral movement he seemed to struggle to pin him down. Kell vs Malignaggi isn't to bad because it's a name and also only 3 months away so i'd take that as a U.S Debut. Wouldn't be a great win but if he can't get anything better i wouldn't complain..
Paulie will tell us nothing, too hittable and offers nothing to dissuade Brook. Aydin would be a natural progression, although I would take more of a risk and go for a 'comebacking' Zaveck. Puts Brook in a good position to take on Berto.
Aydin bar his power I couldn't see him testing Brook. Very hittable fighter who against a bit of movement struggles. Would be a good fight but after it it wouldn't give me the feeling that Brook is ready for push to world level. Better fight than Paulie though. Wouldn't mind a fight with Soto Karass or Jones. Zaveck is a great shout though.
I think with 3 months to go i don't see them putting him in to deep i'd say they go for a name rather then a real test. I don't blame them if they did...
:deal As much as i admire paulie's toughness it would show us nothing new. From a betting point of view i wouldn't mind it though. Thpecial k on points would be easy money:good
The last 2 guys Brook has fought have solid chins..... Pauli is another one with a solid chin, he's gone the distance and got rounds in now, but now he needs to look good with a knock out! Pauli will be a good name on his CV but someone that Brook has a good chance of knocking out and looking good would be better but at the same time someone that has a decent ranking.
someone posted a clip of kell being dropped a while back. i know lots of fighters were dropped early in their careers but ended up having solid chins. however it remains a question mark if he is going up against punchers like ortiz. ortiz will quit but you have to beat him up to make him quit. i think kell would have success with the right hand vs ortiz and would get him going and dispose of him. as for berto, i could see kell winning that one also. i think khan would give brook problems though
3:55 Onwards, Not hurt but all the way through that round he was taking bad risks and got caught with chin high as ever. He didn't see the shot coming but recovered very quick tbh he didn't even look hurt just knocked back and off balance. http://187tek9aa.blogspot.com/2007/04/kell-brook-vs-karl-david.html BTW at this time in Kell's career it was a known fact he wasn't taking it all to serious. He was told to layoff the chocolate bars and stop messing around eating dairy products. He had something of a sweet tooth..
