Jacob Matlala comes to mind, he was a mere 4 feet 10 inches tall and was a world champ 4 times! Which other champs can you think of that was short or abnormally short for their division?

Marvin Hart was the shortest heavyweight champion I believe, Boxrec has him at 5"11, though i've heard he was shorter then that.

If he was 5'11, he was taller than Mike Tyson, who was 5'10. He would also be tied with Frazier and Marciano, who were also 5'11.

Sam Langford is the best example you'll find.

Yeah think Sam Langford was 5'6-7 fought from lightweight to heavy, don't think he was heavyweight champ though??!

Well, he didn't hold what we know as the 'world heavyweight title' but he was the 'coloured heavyweight champion'. At that time, he would have been the best heavyweight in the world but because of racism, didn't get chance to prove it.
