Do you have a source for that, other than the always credible words of Bob Arum?

Sergio has earned his right to choose whomever he wants to fight at this point. He's called out Chavez Jr who fights in the same class yet nobody wants to make that fight happen. He just wants a big name. Can't Pirog wait? Just because Sergio wants Pac or Floyd next doesn't mean he won't fight Pirog at some point. Dmitry can do business with Proksa...see how that works out. If Pirog keeps winning and Sergio keeps rejecting a fight with him then we can say Sergio is ducking.

What Sergio is doing is technically a form of cherry-picking. But aren't all boxers allowed one or two freebies? I see no problem with a low risk/high reward fight but only under these conditions: (1) fighter has already beaten a good number of dangerous opponents (2) needs a big fight in order to boost his status

Mayweather will probably throw a $2.5 Million check on his feet and Martinez kneels on the ground to pick it up :yep I can't blame him, one night of dancing with Mayweather is a lot better than getting KO'd in Moscow lmao

Well he kind of is. See his latest nausea-inducing tribute to Todd DuBoef or the many whiny columns about the meanies at HBO filled to the brim with "anonymous" Top Rank sources. Beyond that though, I'd be curious to see a link. Arum claimed one thing about Berto's demands and DiBella another (specifically whether he was demanding a particular amount of the HBO money or out of the total purse altogether).
I hope you realize that even in the event that the offers were exactly the same, a fight against Mayweather does far more for Martinez's long-term value than one against Pirog. Again though, we already have Martinez's manager saying that the offer was no greater than what they are regularly making from HBO (not even for a potential Floyd fight) and an independent journalist saying that it came with conditions that justify turning it down.

:patsch:patschok moron!!! How old are you?? how freaking stupid are you?? Do you know the slightest of how boxing business works???

Let me educate you, you imbecile.

If unknown russian fight unknown Argentian in Las Vegas where american fans are too busy watching football, gay porn/UFC they will have to throw free tickets to anyone buying a popcorn just to get 1000 fans to show up,. Who would care about this fight in US????

But in russia theres millionaires willing to put up HUGE dollars to see their hometown perform and thousands would come to watch it. Only reason Martinez IS being offered lot of money is becuase it would be in russia. Where would they get that dough in america????

Remember when Kostya Tszyu accepted to fight Hatton in Hattons backyard?? You know why????? cause Rickys people paid him 4 mill. They couldnt come up with that dough in US????

Theres a billionaire that was offering 60 million for Pacman if he fight Canelo IN mexico if rumors are correct.

The deal is YOU EITHER TAKE SHITLOAD OF MONEY TO COME TO US, or take pennies *uck off and fight in Vegas where there is no fans.

    Get it????

You get WHY he is getting big money??? Only if it's in russia

Yea and did you watch Kostya vs Hatton? It was basically Kostya vs Hatton and the ref since the ref let Hatton wrestle Kostya. And according to Martinez manager that so called load of offer is bs in which is the same money martinez receive when he fought barker in america. And fighting in russia vs an unknown opponent is not good business move. The top 3 p4p and number 1 middleweight champion of the world shouldn't be going to somebody's backyard in which again that fighter is way unknown to the public. And if it's in russia, then martinez will once again get screwed out of the judges and the ref like in the cintron fight.

If he's being offered significantly more than he will be getting with HBO, he really has no excuse for declining it other than he wants to take softer options waiting around for Pac, Mayweather, Cotto.

You just answered your own question. Boxing fans who know something about the sport know that's a totally bull**** ranking, completely manufactured because HBO wants a new star. Donaire's too small, JMM's not photogenic enough, etc and so on for all the fighters who actually deserve that type of ranking. Sexy Sergio gets it because he's sexy. *****s like this because they think Sexio is a soft touch for Floyd to pick up another belt, and they're right.

Sergio's not going to fight Pirog. Not in Russia, not in America, not at the bottom of the ocean and not on the moon.
