Foreman was undisciplined early on. He swung for the fences and was often off-balance and out of position. If George caught Bonavena flush, sure, anything could happen. But 1970 Foreman was still a work in progress.

Oscar Bonny was a bad-ass with shear tuffness, however, his skills were unorthodox to the maxi-pad..... In my view, George Foreman, despite being green in 1970, was still big and strong enough to handle a crude styled fighter like Oscar..... Yes, punches would fly / connect, but in the end I see Foreman TKOing Bonavena inside 10 rds.....

Based on style, an early KO for George.

No, they don't make sense because they have no regard for historical facts or reality. You seem to like to create your own facts and realities.

Prime for prime,George takes Oscar out of there before the bell for round 7 has rung. In 1970,though,Bonavena stops a green Foreman.

Well, here's an inescapable fact for you then, not subject to your interpretation or mine- Bonavena BEAT Chuvalo.

Not only beat him, but decked Chuvalo at least once. Two trips to the canvas for George..one was a slip.

IMO George in 1970 was still pretty green, but he still hit like a ****in sledgehammer. Bonavena was much more experienced and he was tough, and rugged, and packed quite a wallop himself.

I think Oscar gives him troubles for the first 4 rounds or so, but eventually George gets to his man with 1 too many hard shots and puts him down for the count.

Chuvalo wasn't legitimately knocked down by Bonavena in my opinion, and even if you think he was, he was hardly flattened to the canvas.

Bonavena was a tough, experienced contender who could also hit hard. Just the type of opponent a shrewd manager would steer a green 1 year professional away from. I'd expect Bonavena to have too much for Foreman at this point in their careers. It's a pity Oscar got injured when they were due to meet a few years later as it would have been a belter then.

I wouldn't base it on a few highlight excerpts and possibly biased articles .
I already replied 2 this and even if he did it then their mutual outcomes vs Ali more than reverse it as a true convincing stoppage > distance fight .
Chuvalo could last d distance vs Bonavena & did beat Ali , Bonavena couldn't last d distance vs Ali even if he did deserve d decision vs Chuvalo and it is still just an if 4 me .
