    I agree.

Oscar De La Hoya, was beating Hopkins during there fight aswell, up until the knock-out.

Hopkins could not handle, Oscar De La Hoya's speed, even at 160.

Nah, De La Hoya was snatching the early rounds IMO, until Hopkins dug in and imposed his size. Not a great performance from B-Hop at all IMO, especially considering the level of Middleweight he had in front of him.

But the speed, clearly was brothering Bernard Hopkins. One thing that bothers me about Chad Dawson, is is full body speed. What i mean by this is whole body speed, handspeed, speed of though, and mobility..........."I don't think Chad Dawson's mobility speed, matches his hand speed"

But Chad Dawson has immense Hand speed when he lets them go, and people forget he's a imposing figure at 175, he's like a Eagle.

For me his age and tightness at the weight were clearly showing. The Hopkins that dismantled Trinidad would have made faster work of Oscar.

    Rewatching that fight -

Round 1 is clearly Hopkins'. He lands more punches. Oscar lands a jab solidly and a little body shot.
Round 2 is Oscar's simply because he answered Bernard's better shots with volume, but those flurries at the end of the round were ineffective. It's amazing how little credit the HBO team were giving Hopkins.
Round 3 is Oscar's. Hopkins lands the harder punches, but Oscar does good work to the body and stands his ground.
Round 4 is Hopkins'. Better punches across the round. Oscar's shots to the body were the most dramatic, but Hopkins controlled that round.
Round 5 is Hopkins'. Some flurries from Oscar don't dismiss Hopkins' harder punches.
Round 6 is Hopkins'. He presses the action against his more sprightly foe. Oscar shows some defence, but is in reverse almost constantly.
Round 7 is Hopkins'. Massive round - punishing the smaller round and controlling the pace.
Round 8 is Hopkins' again. He takes his foot off the gas a little, but still controls the round.
Round 9 is well... we know how that ends.

So I give Oscar two rounds. The only trouble Bernard had was being too patient.

I'm gonna' get down to re-scoring the Taylor/Hopkins fights. Even then, Hopkins was not beaten convincingly IIRC.

"Jermaine Taylor beat Bernard Hopkins convincingly during their second match, easy"

You could make a argument that Bernard Hopkins never beat...

    Winky Wright

    Jean Pasca
    l

Convincingly, during the second fight with Jean Pascal. Commentators where really basis towards Hopkins, if it was a close round! it went to Hopkins i feel, it was as if he has some kind of magical handicap given to him because he was 46 years of age.

And against Ronald Winky Wright, the fight could of went ether way.

That's just bollocks. The first half of the fight against Wright was competitive, but after that Hopkins just ground him down.

Pascal, outside of the knockdowns in the first fight, pretty much got handled. Without the knockdowns, as we saw in the rematch, he got a clear loss.

I disagree with Taylor winning the rematch clearly. I feel he lost the first fight if we score on the real criteria and not hitting gloves and shoulders.

    Breaking News..!!!

I'm actually leaning towards Hopkins against Chad Dawson now 60 - 40.

    More on that later.

Note: When Hopkins fought Ronald Winky Wright every single round was competitive, by no means did Hopkins ground Winky Wright down..? What are you talking about, Winky Wright out of shape, was walking forward all night putting serious pressure

It was a close fight, it could of went ether way.

I wouldn't say that the second fight against Pascal was a "Clear win". Floyd Mayweather vs JMM is a clear 12 round win. Hopkins by no means owned Pascal or broke him down, if they fought for the 3rd time it would be a almost 50/50 fight again.

This is the problem debating with you, PK - you fool people into thinking you're making sense, then the fantasy takes over!

    Whats the fantasy...?

I've been evaluating fight video's, this past hour. And going through different fight situations in my head. And i have came across more pro's for Bernard Hopkins, taking everything into consideration, with Chad Dawson's personality.

I'm now in favour for Hopkins 60-40....this may all change in afew days.

I've not picked a winner as yet. Usually by now, when I'm really serious. I already have a Winner, just like Cotto vs Margarito.

"Antonio Margarito will win that fight, i have no doubts in my mind, especially now that the fight is at 154"

I'm determined, to pick the winner from now on. I'm not active enough on this site to create debates, so i will just pick the winner.

    Chad Dawson wins.

Dawson is weak minded - it doesn't matter.

Hopkins doesn't break minds, he just frustrates and spoils.

Dawson has the speed to pot shot.

Dawson wins for the same reason as Taylor.

Even a shot Roy Jones pushed Hopkins somewhat.

    Speed.

Not Calzaghe flurry handspeed, but pure, first to the punch speed, Taylor and Dawson.
