Froch has proved to me his skill set is good but not great at anyone particular aspect. He doesn't have any glaring weaknesses apart from his defence which his chin and heart make up for in spades. So an all round solid fighter imo and i just happen to like the fella.

 

Maybe so, 3 or 5, whatever I just see him as slow..

Offence is shite for me in that he doesn't have the skills to put it on somebody unless he catches them with the equaliser. Even when he had khan in grave trouble he hadn't the tools to finish the job off. He was gassed and his work was wild and obvious. Great offensive fighters finish the job hence my average score for Maidana.

At the end of the day when we analyse a fighter in this way it is purely objective and my imo is slightly different to yours...

 

power is 7 for me, chin is 9, i have for example the road warrior as a 10,

 

:deal with Alexander and Bradley moving up and khan soon its a pretty **** division when you look at it. maidana matthysse and morrales as the top 3 and they say the heavyweights are ****

 

I woul like to see Maidana v.s. Morales II.

Power: 7 - Carl has had one TKO against a blown up middleweight since he first won the WBC belt, the same guy who has a long history of gassing & getting K.O'ed in the later rounds (Pavlik, Abraham)

Speed: 5 - Never been his strongest attribute, telegraphs his punches and throws them as if fighting in treacle. Utterly embarrassed in the first half of his fights against Dirrell & Taylor.

Offense: 7 - Agree

Defense: 4 - Blocks punches with his face, enough said.

Heart: 10 - Agree, I do admire his will, never gives up which is admirable.

Chin: 7 - You ranked Maidana a 7 and he's never been stopped either. Worse, Carl has been dropped by a career middleweight.....

Overall: 6.6 ~ 7

Your nit picking and i wasn't the one who sort some tangent to go off on in order to disagree with a completely objective opinion on a limited fighter in Maidana. Yes you asked for my opinion on froch to fit your agenda and i gave it fully expecting you to come back with this obvious ****. The thread had nothing to do with Froch yet you lamely made it so in order to belittle another opinion that didn't ride with your assessment. For the record i am cool with your scores on maidana, certainly no agenda here and if you think my scoring of froch proves I have an agenda then you truly don't undertand the concept of opinion..

his power is overrated and he isn't very skilled at all, its a shame though because he's not that slow and has the tools to be decent.
