All the controversy surrounding that ordeal. I dont know what people think was in it to give him an edge lol.
Well, we know it wasn't water, and anything but water is forbidden. And for good reason. Even something as innocent as a dose of sugar can provide an unfair advantage.
Peppermint schnapps and amonia from what I've heard. Whatever it was, it would surely have taken a few minutes to have any effect. Even then, it's not like Pryor came out for the next round like the energizer bunny. For the first 30 seconds they were boxing at ring center with not much happening then Pryor nailed Arguello with a hook and ended it a few moments later.
Resto said it was something like asthma pills crushed up in "Assault In the Ring" but we can only really trust his word so far. I don't really believe it helped him personally.
I heard it was a mixture containing cocaine and honey. I'm quite curious to know what it tasted like.
Well I think with his reputation, we can give any benefit of the doubt to Lewis...:good Seriously though, I am so glad Lewis and Resto's crimes were commited in the 80s. As although he has sadly creeped backed into the sport a bit, Lewis has basically been blackballed, and Resto definitely. If they did what they did to Collins now a days, as Margarito shows, a six month ban, followed by some big money fights, built up on their infamy, would be their punishment in this era.:-(
