What do you think Haye was complaining about when he was "killing himself" to make 200lbs then? Surely if he was killing himself he'd naturally have been around 217 (Margarito and JCC Jr regularly reweigh that much heavier and are smaller men than Haye). When Foreman first beat Frazier he was 217 the same as Haye was against Bonin. Hayes highest was Ruiz 222 Foreman in career 1 had a max of 231 (against Denis) and for his title fights was at a high of 224 against Norton.

Read Foreman's book. His trainer was a firm believer in what he called, "drying out." In other words, he didn't cut to make weight, but he did cut fluids leading up to the fight. It was part of his training regimen as his trainer recommended it.

Haye till 4 years ago was dieting and cutting weight to get under 200 pounds. He is a solid 210 to 220 pound fighter. Plus Haye if anything has less body fat % then Foreman ever had even in his prime.

I heard Prime Foreman trained down from about 250lbs walkaround-weight to 235/230lbs, then dehydrated down to 224-217lbs for fights.

Haye had to bulk-up to be a heavyweight.

Why would a fighter do that? Sh*t are you all f*cking insane? You don't cut weight if you don't NEED too, because it can f*ck you up.

I'm 6' 1" 220 lbs. When I met George Foreman, I was suprised to see he was not that much bigger than me. Don't get me wrong, ain't sayin I could fight him just sayin he wasn't all that bigger than me

Haye now more than likely has more muscle mass than the young Foreman. Which can be seen with their weights being pretty much the same but with Haye having far less body fat.

The dehydration was supposed to make him sharper & faster, or so his trainers thought...

There wasn't much of a size difference between them. But, the type of weight is different. Foreman's got more skeletal muscle and a broader build, Haye's got the more superficial muscle. We'd call guys like Foreman "country strong" as opposed to the beach body Haye's got.

Foreman was a naturally bigger man. He's got about 15lbs of natural weight on David Haye.

Foreman was a big man back then because heavyweights are relatively small. He'd be considered small by today's standards.
