Its a reasonable fight, it just looks bad because of the size disproportion and because Mormeck is very shopworn.

Wlad might be better off fighting someone like Grant instead who jsut makes for a more asthetically pleasing, if less reasonable fight.

Mormeck sucks and has zero shot at winning. End of story.

He holds some international title after beating Timur thus is ranked very high amongst the orgs.

Now you are just being picky.
The point of the list is to show that there is no opponent who is A STEP ABOVE Mormeck, that is also available and willing to fight.

Dimitrenko was also owned by Chambers, there's no way he stands a chance against Wladimir. Would he have been a better option than Mormeck? Perhaps slightly so, but not by a great deal. It's not like Dimitrenko is in an entirely different league. Same with Lawrence. he's 36 and lost by KO 1 to Stiverne, and lost a UD to McCall.

Who would you select as the best possible choice?

They have to be available AND willing to fight.

Wladimir offered Arreola and Helenius, among others, the Dec 10th date, and they turned it down.

Best posible choice if indeed those guys declined would be Haye rematch.
Then James Toney (who is scheduled to fight top cruiser but I think he would drop it in favor of Wlad match in a heartbeat).

After that some big guys like Grant, Valuev, Dimitrenko, hell even Shannon Briggs would have been more interesting and would have had better change for upset.

But as I said Mormeck is ok choice for soft keep busy opponent

I'd rather see them too but I hear Haye just retired and isn't Toney signed to fight Lebedev?

Hayemaker said he wont retire if he gets Wlad rematch and Toney would probably take Wlad fight and drop Lebedev if he got a opportunity.

Also if not those two Wlad should chalenge some big guys of the division. Not Mormeck who barely beat Vinny Maddalone
