if the York Hall is the UK's best boxing venues (I say this because of the history, the atmosphere, the closeness and the excellent view you get) what other venues would make your top 10? Am asking the question coz watching the comp last night Liverpool Olympia looked a similar type set up

I've had my favourite nights at the MEN tbh. Trent FM arena is pretty good too. Think York Hall is going to be the favourite.

    Football stadiums are shite!

ive only seen boxing at the echo arena and the liverpool olympia but it is one of my ambitions to watch a fully packed card at a fully packed york hall one of the top things on my sporting bucket list!!!

If you do, make sure you arrive early for which ever show it is. Grab a balcony seat either side, bang in the center, in line with the ring. These seats are the best view in live boxing.

Couldn't agree more (from our limited experience) - watched nathan cleverley defeat courtney fry from the balcony and it was an eye opener.
interestingly last friday spencer sold separate tickets for the floor and balcony, although they cost the same, and punters were prevented from going upstairs without the right ticket.

isn't the MEN just another big arena where you can't see **** all unless you've paid premium rate? that's why i liked the look of liverpool olympia last night - seemed as though even the cheap seats had a close up view

Liverpool when I was a kid had the stadium see what you can find out about it, when I was kid it was a magical place to watch fights. The Echo Arena now though is also a great spot

I'm not sure why Maloney hasn't used it more. Maybe cos he's got more northern fighters makes no sense staying in London. It's a ok venue but york hall anyday..

As fun as the York Hall is, you cannot beat boxing at The Royal Albert Hall.
