Harrison license request rejected

Is Barry Hughes still his manager? Scott will get it back very soon and rightly so,people have done worse than him

 

If he is gonna get it back anyway Billy, why are they arseing about???

Should have just gave him it back if he is fit and healthy imo.

 

I agree with the posters before me who think this scumbag shouldnt get his licence back. The board should set a president and say from now on boxers who commit a serious criminal act shouldnt be allowed a licence. Society is too quick to forget sport stars wrong doings, people like Scott Harrison and joey barton should be banned from there respect sports.

 

Thing is though mate, its what he has done for a living, if a bricklayer or a joiner or a callcentre worker gets sent down or gets done for whatever crime they can still do their job.....just cos you are a public figure and you **** up does not mean you shouldnt be allowed to do what you do imo.

Even if I didn't beleive Harrison should get his license back for the reasons you mentioned (and its a valid point of view IMHO) I'm never in favour of precidents being set in kneejerk decisions to punish one man.

If you are going to bring in a rule then bring it in in the cold light of day and so everyone knows where they stand beforehand. Don't just decide arbitarily that one unlucky case, that maybe no worse than many others before it, is going to made an example off.

 

Don't know the ins and outs. I haven't even said Harrison should be banned, but that relevant offences should be more important in deciding whether they should be given a license.

They have said it's paperwork anyway, so no need to get worked up.

 

I'm not getting worked up, I pointed out the paperwork thing as well, is dicks like Palmer that's mouthing off.

 

Technically yes but what are the chances of being re-employed walking back into the exact same job with the same company? very low. People talk about giving people another chance etc, but if your stupid enough to commit crimes you should live with the consequences.

Maybe if he stayed out of trouble for an extended period of time 2 years plus etc but I think it wrong that someone can commit the kind of crimes scott has and is able to walk right back into the ring and fight for thousands of pounds.

 

Would we be OK with him getting a job on say a building site then? Is just through boxing that he should be stopped earning a living, or should he be looking at drug dealing, debt collection and other illegal activites to make ends meet?

First ever post, so hello.

Scott Harrison, if fit of body and mind, should be granted a license by the BBBoC.

His "past" should not be taken into account.

 

Ive no idea why he'd have Barry Hughes as his manager again. I fail to see what leverage he's going to offer Scott for anything.
I agree he'll get his licence back, but hopefully with his Dad, Matchroom/W arren and a decent manager.

 

Scott Harrison has done his time,the man should be allowed to earn his living.

And lets not forget many a sports people, and like many pop stars have committed worse crimes and been allowed to earn there living.And tell me was it not BBBOC that allowed a famous heavyweight into the UK to box after committing a ****,and protests from the UK womans rights groups.

 

Forgive me if I am incorrect, but haven't Larry Olubamwino and Ian Napa, amongst others, both served time at Her Majesty's pleasure? Napa certainly was a credit to British boxing.

Harrison's application should ONLY be decided on being of a fit body and mind.
