You're putting word in my words I didn't say. Pacquiao's got a great résumé and Mayweather would have a great one too if he fights Martinez. History will decide who was the best when everything is settled.

The fact that Martinez's not HOF bound holds little weight to me. I can see a talented guy when I see one. The same would apply if Mayweather was going to fight Pirog instead. I hold Pacquiao's victories over Cotto and Margarito in high regards and they won't make it in the HOF.

He's still got time. He could conceivably clean out 147 and 154, beat the Middleweight champion and retire 49-0 with championships in six different weight classes. That's some high hopes, but I'm sure he's capable.

MGM Grand. In another recent interview, Martinez said he'll fight next in March-April.

If Floyd takes the fight I'm a fan win or lose because this is a real fight. I see the fight as very even with Floyd with a slight advantage because he seems a bit more stable in his level where Sergio is a bit more up and down....

awesome fight I will pay a lot to see!

It's the size that makes it a legacy-booster.

Really, if Sergio were an average sized welterweight, would people really be giving him much of a chance against Pac and Floyd?

Sergio is a good fighter in a weak division/era. Mayweather and Pacquiao are great fighters who would be successful in any era.

You can't look at an overall resume all the time.

You have to factor in a lot of things.

I'm sorry but this is no hate to Pac but Floyds victory over Mosley, is way better than Pac's.

Mosley's victory over Margarito is way better than Pacquaios.

Pacquaio's victory over Marquez is way better than Floyds.

    You see where Im getting?

You have to look at recent fights, those are what matters nearly the most when making a big fight.

Pac and Floyd are both greater and have achieved more but Sergio is the 3rd best fighter in the world at the moment. And thats all based on his last 3 years of work.

You simply can't hand a fighter a great victory just because of the name he beat. You have to factor in the "What have you done for me lately"

Cotto will probably make the HOF. I think Martinez would be a great win for Floyd. I'm all for this fight. I would hold a Floyd victory over Martinez in far higher regard than Pac's win over Margo.

Yes but you are wanting to ignore that Mayweather started at 130.

He didn't have a Barrera, or Morales above that.

On top of that, Sergio is the P4P #3 fighter. AND, it would be Floyds 6th weight class.

    I've said this before.

Manny was praised hugely for 4/5/6th weight class titles.

While Floyd doesn't get nearly as much praise for his jumps in weight, depsite Mayweather and Pacquaio weighing nearly the same. ( 1 or 2lbs difference)

A Floyd victory in his 6th weight class would trump about anything Pac's done in single to single victories.

A win over Martinez, won't however sky rocket Floyd past Pac in ATG status.
