That other program took forever to end (and did so at a weird time, like twelve minutes into the hour). I was starting to doubt the reports of 9pm EST were correct. :yep

 

Wait, is "87,200 pesos" the purse or Garay's weight?

I've never heard of any broadcaster ever putting the boxer's nightly earnings up on their graphic.

Round 1

Crenz is backing away from the much smaller (five inches shorter) Garay and throwing out long slow jabs and some reaching left hook taps to the hip. Garay is swinging wildly, making up for his shorter reach by hustling straight forward and whipping bombs around from either side. Garay gets Crenz in a clinch and violently shoves him to the mat. Not a knockdown. Crenz swats at the air in front of himself with light jabs and hooks while backing away. Constant pressure from Garay, and a few body shots. Crenz backs nearly into a corner and then steadies himself with a long slow right hand lead that bounces off the tops of Garay's gloves. Clubbing overhands from Garay coming forward and crashing into Crenz's upheld arms. They come together in a hard clinch as Garay keeps hammering his way in with left and right overhands, Crenz just sticking his long arms out as a barrier.

Round 2

Garay comes forward throwing pitched-roof rights and wild left hooks to the body. Crenz is still just backing out to the perimeter of what looks to be a very wide ring (these are cruiserweights, with plenty of space to roam around) and flicking out jabs that don't make contact nor serve as a deterrent. Garay keeps wildly clobbering his way inside and getting tied up as the taller man just tilts his head back (flinching when brushed by a stray glove) and drapes his arms down over the persistent former champ. Crenz throws a combo but it sails right over Garay's head. More clubbing up high by Garay, not really landing well but getting Crenz to reel back to the ropes.

20-18 Garay

 

It will either be after this 8-rounder, or after a 10-rounder that might come between them.

 

HHG is not really impressive tonight but so far he's the only one making the fight. :conf

Garay will KO him by 6. Garay is one of my favorite fighters in the division. Also Barros UD
