Yeah, even though I had him well ahead before getting stopped he was stinking it up.

Did anyone else get the feeling Crenz was just biding his time? :think

I have to imagine, that's a pretty damn big win for Cesar.

    Cesar did seem more "measured".

Does this set Cesar up for a title fight? If it was an official eliminator, usually scheduled for more rounds than that.

For all the predictions on here, why not stop on by Kirk's thread to make a prediction too? (if you haven't already)

Kirk's thread presented by Eastside Boxing and sponsored by SNV-SNV is king Sugar daddy.

That's a nice feather in Crenz's cap. His twentieth win has more value on paper than his first nineteen combined.

Oh, and now that I'm looking - there IS actually an Argentinian cruiserweight title. The guy who holds it - Rogelio Rossi - knocked Crenz out in five rounds to defend it back in January of this year, and is challenging Marco Huck next week. :!: Small world.

So what we just saw was effectively for the bragging rights of "2nd best national CW".

Maybe if Rossi loses his bid against Huck (safe bet :yep), there is a chance of Crenz getting a rematch and another crack at the FAB strap.

Damn, Garay has fallen from a world title belt holder to the bronze medalist in his own country. (which doesn't have a terribly deep talent pool in the division) ...Ouch!

Ruined my night... Hope Garay drops a few pounds and comes back good. That was the worst he was ever. Anyways I hope Barros and Perez win I guess.

It was well documented that Garay had problems making 175. I remember in one of his last performances at Light Heavyweight he hit the scales butt naked. Unfortunately, it seems he can't handle the power at Cruiserweight.

Next up is a 10 rounder between Roberto Bolonti vs. Jose Hilton Dos Santos, light heavyweights.

The Brazilian slugger Dos Santos comes out to Metallica's Enter Sandman.

He weights 78,150 pesos (or...that's his purse. I'm still not sure about that )

Honestly, his own power doesn't seem to have carried up terribly well and he looks like he barely made 200 with that roo pouch he was sporting.

Moving up to HW at a mere six feet and without a ton of skill (and with pretty stubby reach) isn't a good idea.

Right now he's a man without a division. :think Maybe it's time to call it a career at 30 (although he did put in a solid ten years...his campaign highlights being the two losses to Erdei, but he gave a good account of himself there...)

The hometown hero Bolonti came out to a decidedly less badass metal track - (She's My) Cherry Pie by Warrant.

Dos Santos EVT1 Bolonti so far.

    Round 1

Nice stiff jabs by Bolonti. Dos Santos pushes his right jab out softly and tentatively while backing up. Nice right hand digs to the body by Bolonti coming forward. Good positioning by Bolonti, leaning in and dropping jabs and crosses to the gut of Dos Santos and then leaning back and off to his own left to completely take the edge off any of Dos Santos' slow counters that may graze him on the way out. Nice 1-2 by Bolonti, really showing his superior hand speed. 1-2-3!!!! Plus two more right hands!! NICE COMBO by Bolonti! Dos Santos is down in a heap! Up! Thirty seconds left. Bolonti measures him, not rushing for the kill. Bolonti circles to his right with a wide base, then steps in to land a stiff jab. Dos Santos backs him off with a left cross. Bolonti gets out to range and starts to pick him off, landing a nice solid left hook that rocks Dos Santos! Right hand, Dos Santos wobbled!

    10-8 Bolonti

Why did the commentator just say the name "Bernard Hopkins"? :blood

Nothing going on in the ring right now is within 10,000 leagues of having anything to do with Bernard Hopkins. He isn't proposing that Bolonti is looking good enough to challenge tomorrow's Hopkins-Dawson winner, is he??? Someone fluent in Spanish help me out here. WTF does Bernard Hopkins have to do with anything???
