in 1987 a film Something Great.....The Les Darcy Story. was being produced by Boulevard Films, an Austrailian Company.
Paule Cremo, Location Scout wrote a letter to a local person looking for information about the training camp. Was the film ever made?
I don't know. He sent along a few pages of the script.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
    Good luck in your research.

Unless Im mistaken it wasnt a documentary but a melodrama which he starred in himself as the hero.

The forum's become over-run by Aussies, who always make sure to pray to the spirit of Les Darcy before they eat their dinner.

Yes it would be..... and I'd be pleased to hear a sound recording of him talking (alas VERY impossible) it would be interesting to hear what he sounded like.... funny if it came out like Bradman's did in those early 30's recordings and film....... Thank god Bradman's record is indisputably the GOAT of cricket...... and plenty of film of the greatest.

For those who don't know, Bradman had a bit of a squeaky voice and a very unique accent, who knows, Darcy may have equalled 'THE DON" in his career, if only he'd lived. He certainly has Klompton's attention.
