Now that we have more information: Cotto can't beat Mayweather at 140 or 147!

people always say how cotto would have a good chance and give him a hard fight but they can never say why.

You can only win a fight by winning 7/12 or more rounds or by KO and I dont see cotto doing either against mayweather. He wont outland him and he wont stop him so he wont win. Mayweather would outbox cotto 10/10 times

Cotto gets overrated because people like his personality

Cotto is a B level fighter....he has no shot vs Floyd. The only reason anyone gave him a shot vs Pac was because he was bigger....and Pac was still a big favorite according to betting odds. He doesn't do enough well enough to challenge elite fighters.

My only thing is, now that we have more information in terms of the last 3 to 4 fights by both fighters, can we say that the fight we were clamouring for was going to be a Mayweather beat down as well?

We can still do it if there are no more guys out there that Floyd can embarras handily. But I don't thinl Cotto's style, punching speed or power would have enabled him to do anything other than get a loss by UD to Mayweather then and even more so now.

We can still do it though... make the fight and watch it happen!

KNEEguel Quitto couldn't carry Money's spitbucket. It's an utter disgrace for Cottoe to even be mentioned in the same sentence as Money.

Speculating wont put the W on his resume, but since ya love playing this game well, a prime Cotto and Margarito are a bigger thread than 99% of floyd's resume.

Lets put it this way , Cotto would still have his zero if he had Floyds resume.

The only men to beat Cotto would have beaten Floyd no question.

Its these points that put Floyd on vacation for two years.

There is a reason why Floyd didn't fight Cotto.

...and Cotto having Arum is just an excuse.

Cotto never had a chance in hell against Mayweather, they were never in the same class, I actually always thought Hatton to be a harder challenge because of his intensity even if he was limited. Cotto is too damn slow, has a **** defence, isn't even a puncher and doesn't have anything to neutralise Mayweather, he'd get badly beaten up

    Isnt even a puncher???

Shane has said the hardest puncher he has fought was Manny followed by Cotto, strongest fighter was Wright.

Floyd went on holiday for two years to avoid being in the mix with Cotto, and it had nothing to do with Arum. All Floyd.

Cotto would've worked Mayweathers body and Floyd preffered a holiday rather than face Cotto, Margarito, Williams or even the hard hitting Cintron.

    Too many legit dangers.

How are B and C level fighters dangerous? Who remembers Pipino Cuevas?

If Floyd fought Margarito and Cotto instead of Baldomir and Hatton, idiots would say he ducked Baldomir and Hatton.

Cotto in his prime was the greatest fighter of all time and it's not even close.
