Unbeaten jr featherweight Hairon “El Maja” Socarras (4-0-1, 4 KOs) went the distance for the first time in a controversial four round draw against Lamar Charlton (1-2-1, 1 KO). Charlton was incorrectly credited with a knockdown of Socarras in round four, which made the scores 38-37 Charlton, 38-37 Socarras and 38-38.

Some of the most incompetent scoring I have ever seen. Hairon won every round...even the one with the fake knockdown. Hairon was pissed off as he should have been. It seemed like he was demanding an immediate rematch after they read the scores

We have to agree on Socarras must be prepared to fight and not just knock people out in one round.

    B......scene:

    Lara wants Pirog!

Junior middleweight contender Erislandy Lara (15-1, 10KOs)*has been*reading the back and forth debate between the promotional teams behind middleweight champions Sergio Martinez and Dmitry Pirog. The Russian boxer's team made an offer of $3 million dollars to entice Martinez to travel*across the ocean*to Russia for a fight with Pirog. But*Martinez and his management have*zero interest in facing Pirog in Russia -especially without the involvement of American television.

Where Martinez won't go, Lara is willing. The Cuban boxer has no problem moving up to to 160-pounds, or facing Pirog in Russia.

"Team Pirog*is*looking hard for an ass whooping. If Martinez won't fight*you in Russia -*I will. I have fought all over the world and that type of*atmosphere doesn't bother me. I just beat Paul Williams like he helped [Fidel] Castro take over my country and i still can't find a fight. Angulo, Kirkland, Molina, Trout and*Dzinziruk have all turned me down. For an opportunity at a title I would consider moving to*160-pounds, and flying across the world to make a point. I am one of the best fighters in the world, pound-for-pound. This is my open challenge to Dmitry Pirog," Lara told

Wow, Lara is on a mission! Going up in weight and taking on Pirog is no easy feat. Let see if team Pirog takes the challenge. Why wouldn't they Lara is coming off a draw and a lose right? :yep

Cuban prospect Yoandris Salinas (13-0, 8 KOs) will face former WBA bantamweight champion Nehomar Cermeno at 122 pounds on Saturday at the WBA “KO to Drugs” Festival at the Roberto Duran Arena in Panama. Cermeno was scheduled against Chris Avalos, who pulled out and Salinas took his place. Salinas is part of Dream Team Boxing Promotions and is a fighter with good technique and a lot of talent. The same night, stablemate Richard April faces Miguel “Aguacerito” Acosta.
