DeMarco is the best professional sparring you can get, he takes everything you thow at him but is content to take it, not try to win.

I think Hopkins takes on guys who really don't know how to win at the top level. There is a system to his handpicking.

Dont think thats what he said. He compared Linares to Robinson due to being lanky.

This performance is good and against a good opponent. I just think Linares has the talent to be GREAT.... he could put on a show and completely dominate if he was more intelligent with his movement and punch selection

When he came up on ShoBox, he was putting some hurt on guys. His stock has sure dropped sharply recently.

    Round 7

Slapping double hooks by Lianres while backing up. DeMarco is pushing his own shots out there, but getting beat every time in the exchanges. Linares is just plain better. Sharper, truer punching...better head movement, better instincts about when and where to move. 1-2 by Linares. Lead left by DeMarco, scrapes Linares' mouth but he turns his head to roll with it and spits out a little blood that has been gathering. DeMarco pushes his weak right jab and gets his face stamped with Linares' left jab. The toe to toe exchanges are getting far more frequent, and there IS leather coming down on Linares...but he's still scoring more.

    70-63 Linares

 He's forty-six. He damned well better handpick to some degree. Although, if in the same shape as Pascal II, I at least slightly favour him over all the other 175 guys, so I don't think he really has to. :huh

Yeah, shame on him for fighting the top two light heavyweights in the world.

    :think

To me what he's missing is a more aggressive "Go for it!" mindset, rather than intelligence.

That's all that separates this performance from Valero's against DeMarco right now.

Linares is a MUCH better boxer than Valero was. He just doesn't have the killer instinct.
